Brilliant Workouts!
These workouts are brilliant! Why? Because Jessica combined strength training & cardio moves into each workout for maximum efficiency. It seems like each time Jessica releases a new DVD, it becomes my new favorite. Prior to receiving this DVD, I wondered if this one would be too similar to her Boost Metabolism & Muscle DVD (after all, very similar titles). However, these are very different routines with creative & unique exercise moves. I completed the Upper Body Circuit & Total Body Time Saver workouts yesterday. Today, I completed the Lower Body Circuit & Bonus Knee Routine. Each one of these workouts are very impressive & enjoyable!!For the Upper Body Circuit, I used 4 lb dumbbells. Jessica REALLY works your upper body; my shoulders were screaming & I was tempted to switch to lighter weights, but I managed to stick it out. The cardio moves were extremely fun & involved some boxing routines. For the Total Body Time Saver, I used 5 lb weights & really felt my muscles working!! This workout is short & sweet, but trust me, Jessica packs in a whole lot in that short amount of time (lots of compound moves like squats with shoulder presses). For the Lower Body Circuit, I used 5 lb weights. OMG, I was drenched in sweat during this workout! Jessica really gives it to you in this one! All my lower body muscles were begging for mercy!! Many squats, lunges & balancing moves. I'm more of an advanced exerciser, so I followed Raquel for the higher impact moves which included Plié Jacks & squat jumps during the cardio segments! Yikes! The bonus routine is a low impact segment dedicated to your knees. This was such a delight for me, especially after the Lower Body Circuit. I don't own a resistance loop, so I followed Debbie. I felt very relaxed & my knees felt great after this segment. My favorite thing about this DVD is that there is absolutely NO floor work. I don't mind doing my push ups & burpees every once in a while, but I much prefer standing routines. I really love Jessica for creating so many standing-only workout routines!! Jessica's workouts are high intensity with low impact. She has really changed my taste & views when it comes to exercising. I own a huge variety of workout dvds & I constantly find myself choosing Jessica's workouts over all the others I own.One thing, my current DVD has a playback error in the Lower Body Circuit, but Jessica already sent out an email about this issue (which shows excellent customer service from her end). So, I should be receiving a new DVD soon. If you encounter this error, you can complete the Lower Body workout by selecting "play all" and forwarding it to the Lower Body segment. Finally, I really love that Jessica included a weekly suggestion for this DVD. I absolutely love following workout plans because it helps me stay on track. Great job, Jessica!!! Please keep them coming! I can't wait to receive my Walk Off Belly Fat DVD!!!

Aerobic and strengthening excerises in one
I have a number of Jessica Smith's dvds (in fact I have a lot). I like her dvds because she explains things well, makes it interesting for all ages and they are great to do. This dvd "Metabolism Booster" I think, is her best so far. It is a combination of both aerobic and strength exercises for upper and lower body. I like the fact that there are options to do a less intense exercise by following her mum, Debbie or Jessica and sometime even Raquel (when I'm up to it), who does the more advanced version. This is a thoroughly good exercise dvd for the whole body. I still need to work on my balance though as I'm a bit wobbly!

Doing weights is what really boosts your metabolism
I used to be a cardio junky, but now I am convinced that adding weights to my workouts is what really changed my body. I especially love circuit weight workouts like this one. It’s Jessica, her Mom and Raquel. As usual, they are dressed in colorful tops. Jessica’s Mom, Debbie does an easier version of moves, Raquel does the advanced version and Jessica does something in between. You will need a light set of dumbbells for this workout. The four different workouts on this DVD are:Upper BodyLower BodyTotal BodyStrong Knee.UPPER BODY – 35 minutesYou move quickly from one move to the next, so your heart rate is elevated. You alternate using weights with cardio intervals. Some of the fun moves include: wide back row, scooping chest fly, pec dec with overhead press, split balancing bicep curl and figure 8 scoops.A five minute cool down is part of the workout. I don’t think that such a long cool down is needed, so I usually just go back and do the warm up again.LOWER BODY – 35 minutesOnce again you’ll be alternating weights with cardio intervals. Some of the fun moves include: single leg runner, curtsy lunge, jumping plie with jack arms and air squats with wide leg.TOTAL BODY – 17 minutesThere are lots of compound exercises in this short, but sweet workout, so you heart rate will remain elevated. You’ll also work your balance (and your core)! Some of the fun moves include: alternating step squat with overhead press, split balancing squat, plie bicep curl and balancing upper back row.STRONG KNEE – 20 minutesJessica uses a resistance band. You loop it around your legs and do various movements. If you want a fun and versatile weight circuit workout, this DVD is for you!
