It's heavy, it's not soft.
Bottom line - I'm very happy with this bag. It looks more durable than similarly priced bags at my local sporting goods store.I bought this bag to augment my P90X DVD workout. One of the P90X DVDs, (Kenpo), has a punching series. I figured hitting a bag would be more of a workout than shadow boxing - it is!! Point is, I'm not a boxer and I don't train like one. I hit this bag for about 30 min once every couple weeks. At this rate, I think the bag will outlast me. The C3 Foam wrapping really appears to add durability to the bag. It's not soft. I started hitting the bag with some 4oz "fighting/wrestling" gloves. I quickly switched to 8 oz gloves, but I was still bruising my knuckles. I finally moved up to 16oz Everlast Elite Protex2 gloves. I found it uncomfortable to hit the bag full force with anything less than the 16oz padded glove.I used some plate weights, (70lbs), and a bungee cord to make an anchor. The bag does have a tendency to move around. I too have a low ceiling in my basement. I ended up hanging the bag from 5/8" dia. threaded rod placed between some bridging I added between the exposed floor joists in my basement ceiling. Now throwing a punch straight out, I hit the bag I few inches above its center.Gloves - Everlast Protex2 Vinyl Training Gloves

Not too hard of a bag like some say. It’s perfect!!!
Great punching bag, highly recommended, well worth the money. Not too hard like some of the reviews say. It’s perfect. Get some boxing gloves and enjoy!

Excellent performance/cost ratio
This is perhaps the best deal around on a heavy bag. With Prime I had this shipped for $69 which is far less than what others were asking used in the local popular paper. Now keep in mind that a heavy bag is not for everyone. Use some common sense and not your ego when deciding on which bag to buy. This might be a bit much for some. For mounting in my workout room, I reinforced a few joists in the attic and ran high grade bolts/nuts/washers through a heavy duty chain suspending it from the ceiling below. The mount is as solid as can be, no worries.Using 14oz gloves (compromise) I get a really good 15-20 minute workout every other day. I only use it for my cardio days along with other heart pumping stunts. Wrap your hands properly is key here and as always you can view videos online on how to do so without injury. After owning this a few months with many punches I have to say that there is now wear, loose or hard spots, etc. It is as solid as it was on day one. Again keeping in mind I am not Rocky or training for any fights (I hope). For the price, your not going to beat this deal, just ensure it is what you are looking for else you may feel like a bag.

Great bag but hardware does not hold up
This is a great quality bag and my son loves it. The only issue is the flimsy chain hardware that comes with it. There is absolutely no way the set of links that came with the bag could hold up its weight. It bent immediately. We spent an additional $30 or so at the hardware store and purchase heavy duty materials. Once those were replaced, all was good. We have this hanging from a metal beam. I do not want to discourage purchasing this, as it is a very nice bag. Just be aware that you may need to throw in a few bucks if the links are too flimsy.

For the Price, You Can't Touch This
I bought this bag for $75 w/ free shipping and no sales tax. I'm a fairly experienced striker. I've trained Kempo Karate, Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I hit this bag about 3-4 times a week and I hit it hard. I also have the bottom end anchored because it's double-ended. Anchoring helps it from moving too much so it doesn't mess up your timing. This bag will last me for a very long time. It's just soft enough, but not too soft. Trust me, if you want to hurt your knuckles or wrist on this thing, you can. All you have to do is not wear the proper equipment while you hit this bag as hard as you can.Anyway, I prefer a bag that's a little heavier and a little harder, but for $75, you seriously will NOT go wrong. I absolutely love this bag.

Great Value on a Heavy Bag
Anything designed to be pounded on is not an easy item to review. I'm not an MMA guy.I've used this 2-3 times a week for over a year and it still looks brand new. I use it exclusively for boxing for fitness.I also have the bag indoors, which no doubt prolongs its durability. The construction and materials seem first rate, and has not shown any sign of deterioration whatsoever.I timed the purchase of this perfectly and got an excellent deal, far better than from any sporting good store. One would be hard pressed to find a better value.

Good bag for a great price
I have been boxing for years and this is a decent bag for the price. The bag at my boxing gym are much better but they cost over $300.Pros: durable - the bag is solid and appears to be well constructed.Cons: the bag is hard! The gel abosorbs the punches but at times it feels like hitting a wall. A great bag is soft yet solid. You will need to wrap your hands well and wear at least 14 oz glove to not injure yourself.- the bag hangs low and you can not adjust it. It would have been better if Everlast used chains instead of straps. In conclusion this bag is great for the price (I paid $75). If your just looking for a good workout this bag will do but if your training to fight and throw every punch as if it were your last then I fear your hand will hate you for it.Hope my review of this bag help future buyers
