Ok Fluval Edge Replacement
I ordered these to replace the sockets on my 6 gallon Fluval Edge aquarium. If you are an owner of the first generation edges that shipped out with MR11 halogen bulbs these sockets will work. However, the fit of an MR11 bulb is loose and if you are not gentle when moving the light arm the bulbs will easily slide out. I was using LED MR11 when the bulbs fell out so I cannot comment on whether this would happen with the lighter MR11 halogen bulbs. Also, I have not tested them out with the MR16 bulbs yet. Wiring the sockets up was fairly straight forward and the wires come pre-stripped at just the right length to insert into a butt connector. If you have any questions on how to wire up your Fluval Edge consult one of the many forums out there covering this topic. My biggest complaint with these sockets is out of the ten sockets I received only eight of them came with the mica cover. Time will tell how long these will hold up.

More so a 1 time use plug
Im giving its an "ok" rating because all of them do work and would be great for a one time use, however I needed to change bulbs often in a test environment. The first use went great, and for anyone who is going to set a bulb in and forget about it-great, but after changing bulbs in them and moving stuff around they break easily.I would like to stress that if you are going to put a bulb in it and not plan on changing it-this is the item for you.

10/10 work, slightly loose
These "pigtails" are used for replacement wiring of lamps that use these but the original has broken. They are also ideal for new wiring of low-current fixtures such as LEDs that have an MR16 or MR11 two-prong base.Pros* All of them in the box worked, which is what matters.* Stable connection for housed lights (e.g. for rewiring a desk lamp)* The leads are supple and easy to use, for instance bending through tight corners in an existing fixtureCons* The connectors seem slightly loose, such that if you want to hang a lightweight bulb from them with no support, you'll need to bend the prongs on your light, slightly.Other thoughtsThe silver reflective layer you see in the product image is not for removal. It keeps the spring-loaded contacts from coming loose.I had originally given this four stars, because they worked but were a bit loose. After a year in service they all still work, haven't cracked, remain flexible and work fine, so I'm upgrading to a 5-star.

product description incomplete
They may work fine, I wouldn't know. The attached wires are too short for using them in the landscape lights I had planned to use them in. If I'd known how short the wires were, I would not have purchased them.CON - 4 inch attached wire (this was missing from the product description)Can you say return?

Decent quality, insulation could be better on the wires.
I was wary about these sockets as I was looking to rewire some actual halogen MR16 bulbs and not LED bulbs. The porcelain sockets are labeled "25V 100W," and the wiring is labeled "0.5mm2 (~20 Gauge AWG) 180 degree C Silicone Rubber." While these wires are definitely thinner than the ones in the fixtures I was replacing, the load of a 50W halogen at 12v shouldn't in theory come close to the limits of 20AWG wires (especially for just a few inches). As for the temperature, I suppose I'd be careful if the wiring is in an enclosed fixture with the bulb, but in my case the wiring is open and shouldn't take on too much heat. But I can definitely imagine that the surface of a 50W halogen could exceed 180c.

Good sockets,
These work, but unfortunately I didn't have as much test time on these as I would have liked since the bulbs I used crashed and burned too fast. Sockets seem to do the job though

Absolute Crap
Within days if not hours of a licensed electrician retro-fitting these into the existing MR16 cans they all started to overheat and melt the wires and wire nuts . Clearly the potential for a fire was there .... The wires are as cheap as possible . I replaced them with a Leviton product and there have been no issues .I can't stress enough to stay away from this product .
