It is a fabulous set presenting the history of Mesopotamia.

There is no Author cited on the Book and it lacks footnotes.However, I know quite a bit about this subject and it's fairly accurate although there is a bit of conjecture, and the Copy Writing is pretty bad (Two sentences connected that makes no sense, etc.It is a fun read, and if it had Citations and Sources it would be a good intro book for High School.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I am an evangelist and love studying the Bible and this book gave me insight into the history around Abraham Daniel and Cyrus along with others that was in this time frame.I really enjoyed the book on the Babylonians. This was the first time I had read the Epic of Gilgamesh and I really enjoyed reading it.I will definitely buy more from Captivating History. Very informative

O livro não é ruim, mas quem quer uma abrangência maior deve procurar obras que focam em uma civilização especifica o que não é a proposta desse livro. Porém não tenho nada do que reclamar, estou muito satisfeito.O produto em é excelente com capa dura e páginas bem claras.

A very obsorving, with interesting facts and written in a lucid style , evincing keen interest to read from beginning to the end.

Brilliant book giving understandable background to the different empires, timelines and even the myths of these wonderful empires. The best interpretation of the epic of Gilgamesh I have read to date. My initial interest was in Assyria but then I wanted to learn the lead up to the Assyrian empire to fully understand how they came into being. This gives you a very good understanding of how these empires came to be leading you to research deeper into each of these and others empires in the surrounding areas of Mesopotamia. Highly recommend.

This book is first of all, quite long but that's a good thing. It covers the differences of culture and society as well as language from Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, Assyria and Persia. It makes the differences clear and you can really notice the changes and inspirations these societies took from each other and how they learned from thier past, and how they affect us today.
