Fender FA-125 Dreadnought Guitar - Natural Bundle with Gig Bag, Tuner, Strap, Strings, String Winder, Picks, and Austin Bazaar Instructional DVD

Having never previously picked up a guitar in my life, I decided out of the blue that I'd like to learn to play acoustic. Since I'm starting from absolute scratch I didn't necessarily know what I would need, so I was looking for a decent starter kit that had all of the essentials. This one fit the bill perfectly, and with a FENDER guitar no less! With just a little bit of tuning it was ready to go right out of the box. It may be considered a beginner guitar, but it looks and sounds great. The gig bag doesn't offer a whole lot of protection, but it does have some light padding and will do just fine for storing it at the house. Would have been nice if it had an external pocket for accessory storage (picks, polishing cloth, tuner, etc.). The picture makes it look like there is an external pocket, but there's not. If you plan on toting this around to lessons or some such, you may want something a little more heavy duty. One review stated a stand was included, but that must have been a fluke because it's not in the description and I certainly didn't receive one. Make sure you get one of those as well. The only minor issues I had were: 1) the clip on tuner is nothing like the one in the picture. The one included still works just fine, but don't expect it to look like that. (Edit 7/12/13 - the picture has been changed and the tuner that is now shown is the one that I received) 2) the extra string pack was missing, but Amazon CS more than made up for that. I'm not letting either of those little quirks affect my 5 star rating, because overall I feel like this is a great package for someone who is taking their first steps in learning how to play.

This one box has everything you need to get started playing. I bought it for myself but it would also make a great gift for someone, of any age, who wants to learn to play. I was worried, at this price, that the guitar would be of poor quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how well-made and finished it is. Make no mistake - this is a cheap guitar, and anyone who is at all serious about playing will want something better in under a year. But in the meantime this looks and sounds nice, nothing to be ashamed of if your friends were to see it in your home. The guitar is well-made with a handsome gloss finish. It comes pre-strung, and the included digital tuner means you are playing within minutes of opening the box. It also comes with a spare set of strings ... which I think is a very nice touch, they really thought through everything you need to be a guitar player as soon as you open the box. The gig bag is the least impressive part of the set. It is really just a dust cover / carrying case. It offers no physical protection. Since I wouldn't trust it to protect the guitar in transit, and I want to keep the guitar out an visible at home as an incentive to practice, I have no use for this bag at all. It would have been better to include a guitar stand and/or a small bag or pouch to keep the picks and strings organized, instead of this bag. However, that's a small criticism. Overall I am very pleased, I have no regrets at all buying this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a learn-to-play instrument.

Great started guitar. My husband wanted to fiddle around and start. Sounds great and comes with lesson book and tuner. Strap is nice! Overall perfect gift for a beginner. Has everything you need! Would purchase again. Beautiful wood grain.

Now that I’m retired, I thought it would be nice to learn how to play a guitar. After much research and reading reviews, I decided on this bundle package from Austin which included the Fender FA 115. Delivery was quick and efficient. The contents arrived in perfect condition. The only problem I had was with the tuner, that did not work properly. After contacting Austin Bazarr, they promised to ship out a new one, so the customer service was excellent. I did notice that the Austin Bazarr included CD, provides some instruction that opposes what the Fender instructional site gives. For instance, the numbering of the strings from the CD is low toned E string to high, while Fender numbers them from high E to low. This was a little confusing at first, but given the Fender online lessons, I plan to follow their instructions. I also loved the free of charge Fender app to easily tune your guitar. This is really helpful since my tuner didn’t work. I also LOVE that I received three months of lessons with Fender at no additional charge. For a first time guitar player, this will be very helpful. I kind of think I would have found a 3/4 size guitar easier for me to handle, but hopefully I’ll get used to this full size. All in all, I’m very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great guitar at a great price, especially for beginners.

This has been a great guitar for me to learn on. It came in perfect condition. Mine did have a large piece of sandpaper inside it though which took a while to remove. I'm not really sure how that could've happened... But overall it is a great guitar for the price. The kit came with most of everything a beginner might need, but I do wish a capo was included for this price. Also, I did NOT receive the tuner that's shown in the photos, so that's why I've removed a star, but I've gotten by just fine using a free tuner app on my phone. It does need tuned quite often, as most cheap guitars do.

I’ve never really played guitar before and really wanted to get into it. The fender gig bag isn’t amazing quality (obviously worth the money though) and the tuner helped a lot! The guitar sounds great! And it was wrapped excessively I’m assuming for protection. I haven’t used the CD yet but the strap works great! Can’t wait to start playing constantly! There are a few things to mention but nothing worth not giving them 5 stars for. Some of the plastic was warped. I know how to take out bubbles so it wasn't a big deal for me. But some of the plastic is peeling off. Like I said nothing major just note worthy. But the guitar itself is absolutely amazing. Price and all

The guitar seems great. It was a Christmas gift. However, we just discovered there are accessories missing...which were advertised, and which had been a reason why we had decided to purchase the set. The strap, picks, and strings are missing. It's disappointing. FYI: The bag case does not have any pockets for storage/it is a very tight fit and not of good quality, but for now, it'll do. Just wishing it had at least a small outer pocket, strap and some picks. The tuner is nice. Update- Jan 8. I contacted Amazon as soon as we realized parts were missing and they were very helpful. Thank you, Amazon customer service! But buyers, just please be aware that if you intend on buying from this third party vendor, you might have an incomplete order. but the guitar is FANTASTIC!

I broke my angle and wanted to find something to pass the time. I do not read music and do not play an instrument but have always wanted to learn. This is a perfect beginners guitar and the fender apps are amazing. This was packaged extremely well, arrived quickly and is a centerpiece in my ‘need a moment’ time. Sounds great! Great quality for the price.
