THis was relatively easy to install and raised the seat sufficiently that it is easier to get up and down to the "loo". It probably takes more time and skill than some others that just clip on, but it is much more stable.

Works perfectly and was easy to install. Bought this for elderly person who was struggling to get up the commode. She gave it a 10 out of 10. The 3.5 inch is good for her; she is about 5’7”.

Got the package at 9:05am. Seat was installed by 9:17am. Fits great! Glad I can still use the original seat and lid. I agree with a previous review by another customer on 2 things, the heads of the screws do stick up preventing the screw covers from closing (for now I'm going to leave it until I get someone to shave it down) and if the riser seat is screwed to tight the front raises (I loosened the screws a tiny bit which worked without making it to loose). I would recommend as it was quick and easy to install and once installed it is sturdy.

This item should be flushed DOWN the toilet. It is not flat on the bottom, the side that sits on the toilet rim, so when you tighten the provided screws, the front edge lifts up off the toilet rim… keep tightening (yep, it’s still loose on the rim) and the whole thing picks up off the toilet except for where the bolts go through.I fear that if it got sat on at that point, it would break the ceramic toilet.Since I need it after tomorrow’s surgery, there is no time to replace it. I had to insert wooden door shims right in front and right behind the provided screws so that it would sit flat.One Of the worst designed products I have ever purchased. I would return if I had time to replace it.

Has been a while since we had this attached to a toilet for a senior patient. Works well. Recommend.

In the end it worked, but what should have been a 5-minute installation turned out to be about an hour. The toilet seat assembles onto the riser and is held in place by two long bolts that replace the current toilet seat bolts. The first difficulty I encountered is that the bolt heads for the elongated bolts were so big that I couldn't close the caps that hide the bolts on the toilet seat. 10 minutes with a grinder and I was able to "modify" the bolts accordingly (see attached photo of before and after bolt heads). Next, the area at the back of the riser that the bolts go through is displaced about 10mm upward rather than lying flush on the toilet surface. This means that if you tighten the bolts, the front lifts up from the toilet. Why this was done, God only knows. I used the washers from the original installation hardware in a stack with some garden hose gaskets to create a shim stack to bridge this gap (see the photo, the gaskets compress some, so I guess the gap is 9-10mm). As a final touch, I added some double-sided tape between toilet and the riser at the front edge of the riser (you can seem some in the picture above, but in the final installation, the two pieces were replaced by a single piece about 2" wide at the front). It's rock solid now. It's pretty clear to me that whoever designed this has never installed one. Not a chance. I'm an engineer with over 30 years experience and this design could be improved significantly for little effort. It's kinda mind-boggling. Oh well, it's for my 93 year old mother who is coming over for Thanksgiving. I think it should help her immensely getting up and down. It's just a shame something should have been so simple was unnecessarily complicated.
