Excelshow SATA Blu-ray BD-R/RE Drive Burner Writer for Lenovo ThinkPad W510 W520 W530

It was easy enough to transfer the caddy and mounting brackets from my current DVD burner to this new one. I have a Lenovo W530 I purchased in March and it has a DVD burner in the removable bay. Upon replacing my existing unit with this new unit, I found out it ONLY gets recognized by the BIOS if it has a DVD in the drive. I.e. if you booted up "without" a DVD in the drive, you cannot even open the drive to put one in! That's right, it gets no electricity and is not recognized by Device Manager. To get this unit recognized by the BIOS you have to Shutdown the laptop, use a paper clip to open the drive, put in a DVD and then boot up!!!!! Now the unit is recognized and you can remove/add DVDs all you want UNTIL you shutdown AND you leave a DVD/CD in the bay. And finally, when I did get it to work and inserted a DVD movie the software, Cyberlink PowerDVD 10, just could not load the media via this device. I also tried this with a Blu-Ray movie and again it just sits and spins. It does work with DVD data and CD data. It really sounded like a GREAT product. I went to the vendor's website and they only provide refunds within 2 days of purchase -- after that will either repair or replace the unit - shipping at my expense.
