Newhouse Hardware 16V 30VA Door Bell Transformer Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell Pro 30TR, for Wired Chimes

I bought this after I installed a ring doorbell to increase the charging capacity. I have had it for about 6 months and it has performed well. Was very crowded easy to install.

This review is for "Newhouse Hardware 24V 40VA Door Bell Transformer Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell Pro 40TR, Wired Chimes". We've had this installed for a couple of months now. It's been working great with our eufy E340 doorbell. It keeps the doorbell battery charged at all times. eufy recommends power supplies with minimum 16-24VAC and 30VA. Used a volt meter to check and this one certainly meets these specs.

On the bright side, this transformer worked perfectly and brought our doorbell back to life with no issues. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been working reliably so far. If you’re replacing a dead transformer, this did exactly what it was supposed to do. My dogs may not approve, but I do.

Works well for powering a Google Nest Doorbell Camera. The old transformer was only putting out 15.5v. I decided to go 24v and this for the bill nicely.

This Newhouse 24V 40VA doorbell transformer is an absolute powerhouse. I recently decided to try the Ring Wired Pro 3 doorbells, and knew that my existing transformer wasn't going to be able to come close. I had ordered another one from Amazon first, and promptly returned it when I saw zero UL or ETL markings on it. This Newhouse transformer was my next try, and I'm glad I chose them. Affordable, powerful, and easy to install. It fit in the exact same location attached to my main panel box as my old transformer, had easy pigtail wiring to work with which was robust, and the device is powerful enough to run both 4k Ring Pro 3 4k doorbells and both their dependent chimes without any sign of struggle. Exactly what a foundational electric component for your house should be - built solidly and UL certified, quiet, fits right where it belongs, and delivers on what you bought it for. If you are planning to go with multiple Ring wired doorbells, and you have existing wiring and a transformer that isn't up to snuff, this is a great buy. No need to get Ring's power injector - because this will do everything you need in the same simple seamless way that Ring and your home's existing wiring were designed to interoperate.

I've had my ring doorBell pro 2 installed and working fine for over a year then one day the inside mechanical chime stopped working i didn't pay much attention to it since i steady had a ring chime and was using it,,, so recently i decided to fix it and replaced the inside chime didn't fix it,,, tested my transformer and was in the rates range 16v and the doorbell camera still worked but showed level 2 power so i figured let me this better 24v transformer (the house is brand new BTW completed 12/22 well that fixed it the inside come now works fine and front door camera actually loads quicker and with better clarity/less pixelated very pleased with it so far

I bought this product in June 2025, and it completely stopped working in December 2025. The return policy is only 30 days, which is unacceptable given how quickly the product fails. After checking the reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one—many customers are reporting the same problem. Save your money. This company needs to do better.

The transformer works as expected however did not fix the mechanical door chime issue that I am having. May be a totally different issue at this point.
