Memorizing math facts alternative to boring flash cards
My son had his facts memorized before we got to the end of this book, so maybe he is not as "right-brained" as I thought. However, this is a GREAT resource for visual learners, kids struggling to learn their facts, or even for kids just starting out to make it a little more fun. My son loved the stories about the numbers, which also reinforced memorization. All of the numbers are made into funny pictures for visual learners to help them connect the pieces. We dove right in, which was fine, but later I read the instructions on how to use the book. I think I probably should have done that first, as there are a lot of suggestions on how to better use the tools in the book. I'm not really a directions first kind of girl, but I often miss out because of it....and make my husband crazy. We homeschool, but it seems that many public schools are starting to no longer require the memorization of math facts. I am not sure why. It makes advanced math MUCH easier to just know them, so perhaps this book will be even more helpful for parents supplementing the public school curriculum.

AWESOME Book!!!!!!
We had tried so many other techniques to help my 4th grader learn her multiplication facts. We punished. We bribed. We used flash cards. We used computer programs. And all this is in addition to her normal math work with Singapore (we homeschool). When I saw this book, I ordered it right away. She had already learned some of the facts from all these other methods so we were able to move through those quickly. I believe we received the book on a Monday afternoon and started using it the next morning. By the end of the next week, she knew all her facts 0 to 12! I had only been concentrating on 0 to 9 thinking she could pick the others up later, but by using this book she learned them all!!! I was sooooo pleased with it. It is just like the title states - made for right-brained learners... it uses pictures and stories to teach the facts instead of rote memorization. I would HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone with a student that is struggling to learn their facts especially if the student tends to be more right-brained.

Wonderful!
My daughter had ADHD and math has always been a struggle for her and there would be constant tears and fighting when it was time to do homework. This book has been an AMAZING tool for her! She loves the stories and the visuals and today she actually ASKED if we could do the book! Math was never my strength either and doing this with her has been such an eye opener! I wish I had had this when I was her age! Thank you so much for making math fun!

Works well for your struggling visual learner
After completing the Right-Brained Addition & Subtraction workbook, we followed it up with this book on multiplication and division. As a child of traditional school, my visual gestalt learner was struggling with memorizing multiplication tables. He needed not only to get the whole picture, but to actually SEE it in his mind. This book does an extraordinary job of transforming the multiplication tables into easy to remember stories, images, and patterns. In just a few weeks, my third grader mastered the entire year of math that had seemed to be just out of his reach. If you know, or even suspect, that your struggling child is a visual learner, I highly recommend this approach.

Wonderful book!!
Highly recommended for right brain learners and everyone actually. Makes math so much easier for the children that are harder to teach.

Struggle no more!
After many years struggling to learn his multiplication, my son finally gets it! I am so glad I found this when I did. He got through the book fairly quickly and all on his own. He is so empowered with his new knowledge and I am relieved.

Good Buy
I wish this book was available when I was learning multiplication. I learn in pictures, even if I have to make up crazy images in my mind, this helps me learn. I am a teacher and will definitely find a place for this book in my classroom. Thanks!

Good for right brained kids
Love the stories and the pictures to help really associate the math facts and commit them to memory. Important to note: these are NOT flash cards and the size of a full paper of paper.
