A Great Goodbye to Our Favorite Teen Spies
If you have followed the Gallagher Girls from their inception, you know Bex, Macey, Liz and Cammie are not your average young adults. But still, you are sad to see them go, sad to see them graduate, and secretly you hope there will be a follow up series after United We Spy that brings them all back together from their super secret government spy agencies to foil another plot to destroy the world! (Hint, Hint, Ally Carter!!).Everyone knows the Circle is up to no good, but when the original members of the Circle start disappearing or them and their families start showing up dead, Cammie and the girls immediately worry about Zach and Preston. Preston should be safe in the embassy, but the people who are after him are scarier than anyone had imagined. But the government wants Preston and his father more than the people who are offing the circle. The girls insist Preston doesn't know anything about his father's business in the Circle, but no one wants to believe a young girl. Even if that girl is a Gallagher Girl. When Cammie witnesses just how far the reach of this group killing off the Circle can be, and almost becomes collateral damage, the girls realize something bigger is afoot. But the scariest part of it all is that Liz, the brainchild of the group, may have set in motion the most terrifying series of events the world has ever seen. Now the girls have to figure out the connection of this secret group, the Circle, and the world atrocities that are pushing dangerous nations into World War III. But how can four girls figure this all out and stop the events from happening? Well, your first mistake is underestimating a Gallagher Girl! This series started out as your basic Middle Reader. Fun, playful, and silly, it wasn't the most serious of series, but it was darned enjoyable! But then the series started to grow. It got darker, more serious, and the Gallagher girls matured with their readers. And finally we land in this finale, ready and waiting for the girls to graduate and simultaneously foil a plot to start WWIII. It was so perfect, so exciting, I can't believe I have to say good bye to the Gallagher Girls! I can only hope we can convince Ally Carter to start pumping out some "New Adult" Gallagher Girls stories about their adventures in their agencies so we don't have to lose them from our lives! But the important thing about this series is the absolutely empowering message it sends to girls everywhere. You want to be a spy? Do it! You are brilliant at deciphering codes? You can do it! You are so smart you stump the people around you? Don't hide it to impress some stupid boy who should be attracted to your smarts, not intimidated by them. Use them! Be proud of them! I love the message this series sends to middle readers and young adult girls alike. It tells them there is nothing they can't do, even become a spy! And it really is a message we need to send to our young women. How many girls don't raise their hands because they are afraid their peers will catch onto how smart they are? How many don't join the science club or the math club because they will be made fun of for being a nerd? If we want more women to take charge in these typically male dominated fields, then we have to start right here. We have to be like Ally Carter who tells her readers, "I believe in you!" *climbs off her soapbox* Thank you, Ms. Carter!

The Final Gallagher Book
United We Spy is the sixth and last book in the Gallagher Girl series by Ally Carter and she picks up right where she left off in the previous book Out of Sight, Out of Time. There are only seven members left on Cammie's list and Cammie and the gang need to get to them first before Catherine and the rest of the Circle of Cavan take them out.Unfortunately for Cammie and her friends, the older spies (Cammie's mom, Abby and Bex's parents etc...) don't want them to involve themselves any more than they have to. Of course Cammie and her friends don't like this idea and try to explain to their senior operatives that they need Cammie and her team. In response to that, the senior operatives also have harsh but true advice for Cammie and her friends. They need to grow up still! If they want to be treated like adults they have to act like them first. They can't expect to be seen as adults if they demand or whine about things. The character development in this last story was wonderful. We finally get to see Cammie and her friends/team take that last step from teenagers into adults. Cammie and the rest of her crew have to face some very difficult obstacles (busting Preston out of a high security prison or trying to stop the assassination of a King or trying to stop the Circle of Cavan from starting World War 3) and learn some very hard truths on this last journey. This book was action packed which is to be expected since it is the final Gallagher book and I have to say it was a truly explosive end! Ally Carter made sure to tie all the loose ends in this last book and some of them were quite a surprise!Of course there were some romance and we get to see quite a few Cammie and Zach moments which was very sweet. Also there was some Rachel and Joe romance as well.It was hard to write this review. This is the last book in the Gallagher Girl series and I'm sad that this is the end. Although Ally did say there might be a movie someday that isn't set in stone yet but I hope there will be a movie someday! :)I liked United We Spy. I found it to be a very satisfying conclusion to a series I love and will miss. Still there were a few moments in the book that disappointed me a small bit and made me feel a little sad. After graduation, Cammie, Bex, Liz and Macey all go their separate ways. I felt a little disappointed and sad about that. I thought that after they graduated they'd be one unstoppable team together but while I'm a little disappointed and sad they didn't stay together I'm satisfied about the roles they choose for themselves in the spy world.Bex is joining MI6, Macey is joining Secret Service and (I'm not sure what Liz choose:( )Cammie is together with Zach and they're helping Agent Townsend and the CIA. :)Rachel and Joe's romance sorta bothered me and I hate feeling like that! I always thought they would get together and I was eagerly waiting for that moment to happen but then after the previous book Out of Sight, Out of Time when we find out what really happened to Cammie's dad I felt like... I don't know exactly but I didn't want Rachel and Joe to get together too fast or get over Matt Morgan's death too soon and I felt like they did sorta. I mean I know that Rachel and Joe always assumed that Matt hadn't survived since his disappearance but finding out what actually happened to your husband/best friend is still a big thing and I felt like they both got over it a little too quickly. :(Also I felt at times like Rachel was choosing Joe over her own daughter. When Agent Edward lets Cammie and Rachel know that he knows Joe is hiding in the Gallagher school, Rachel knows she has to get Joe out of there and tells Cammie that she feels that Cammie is grown up now and doesn't need her anymore which is her way of saying goodbye before Joe and she take off. I know that Cammie can take care of herself and that while they were running Rachel and Joe are tracking down the last members of the Circle of Cavan but I felt like Rachel was abandoning her daughter to the wolves when she knew the Circle of Cavan wanted to kill her own daughter.I also thought that it would be nice if Rachel finally told Cammie how Matt and her met. She had promised Cammie she would as soon as Cammie had high enough clearance but that never happened which disappointed me. Still it would have been a nice moment between Cammie and her mom remembering her dad but since that never happened and Cammie's dad was barely mentioned in this book I felt like Ally kinda skipped over the husband/dad dying and just focused on Rachel and Joe becoming a couple. I thought she would have mentioned Cammie's dad a little more since he was important in the previous book and they are all trying to finish what he started in this book. But still I am happy for Rachel and Joe in this last book. They plan to get married and Cammie gives them her blessing. :) I just wish I didn't have mixed feelings on their relationship. :(I liked United We Spy and I will miss the Gallagher Girl books. It will always be one of my favorite series!

Brilliant ending to a brilliant series!
(I wrote this a while ago)I am freaking out right now.I just finished this beauty in 8 hours. The quickest read in…well…forever.I LOVED IT! And if I had my way, I’d rate it 5MILLION stars! 😀Okay, so I have loved this series about a special spy school for girls for nearly three years now? And I cannot believe it is now…over. There’s just something heartbreakingly sad when you turn the last page of the last ever book and know that that’s it…there’s no going back (well, unless you re-read. But we all know that’s not the same thing.) and there’s just no more. I didn’t want this to be it. I still don’t. I guess I’m in denial.Cammie. Bex. Liz. Zach. Macey. And many, many others. All of whom I’d love to name but it would take time and…well…you know. They have all had huge adventures one way or another, and some have been hurt, some have found love, some have had tragedies in the family which can never be restored. And I have felt their pain, felt their love, felt their camaraderie, like they were my own friends, my own sisters as it were. Except Zach. Bro, you’ll always me mine. (Cam just doesn’t know it yet. :P)I cannot get over how well paced, how…ohmygodthisissuckingmeinsomuch, it was. If you squint and tilt your head to the side you might be able to read that. lolEvery page, every chapter brought something new and exciting, thrilling, scary, heartwarming, heartbreaking, and I just didn’t want it to end. *sniffs*An interesting turn of events was when political events (albeit made up) were involved. Powerful figures under attack, and people in The Circle still on the hunt for Cammie and Co. No one was safe in this last story of the series.Catherine, Zach’s mother, was just as crazy as ever. But it was rather sad to see/hear why she had gotten to that state. In the end, I felt sorry for her.School time was coming to an end and that meant growing up, future plans. I was rather hoping for more romance between Zach and Cammie, but I guess because so much WAS going on, it might have been a bit out of place for them to be all “hey let’s have a quickie?” Although since they were all 18, that wouldn’t have been such a crime. Would it? *winks*Characters who had appeared in previous books pop up to say hi, which was nice, even if it did take me some time to remember them. Some people, who thought to be good guys, even turned out to be bad. Which isn’t such a shock in the grand scheme of things, but when you’re reading it, it does take it out of you. You’re like WHAT? NO WAY! And then the pity goes out the window.I honestly don’t know what else to say other than this has to be one of my favourites in the series, and one of my favourites of the year! I have never read a book so fast, and that is a testament to how well written, how gripping this was. I love Ally’s writing and I can’t wait to see what she has next on the agenda.I won’t spoil anything about what happens, because trust me, it would take away from the shock factor and/or the drama, so just trust me….it’s a whopper of an ending to the series and sweet, too.Gallagher Girl signing out for the last time. xx

Wow
I started reading the Gallagher girls books because my daughter (5) actually brought it on my kindle by accident. (Someone remind me to set my password again) As a book-aholic I can't leave any book on my kindle unread so I gave it ago.At first I thought "am I really reading this, it's a bit too young for me" but I can honestly say I was gripped to these books. I finished all 6 books in a week over the Christmas period and for that I'd like to thank you Ally Carter for keeping my mind occupied from all the Christmas craziness. You've made family visits that little bit better, knowing I can crawl to bed early a read about the Gallagher girls.Fantastic books id recommend to anyone. X
