My 1st GILMOUR hose finally wore out after 20 years so I bought another one!
### TWO-YEAR UPDATE ### July 2024 - Still loving this hose. I've been using it as described below for two years with no problems. It still looks and functions as new. No kinks, leaks, flat spots, or twists. It gets very hot here in Phoenix and this hose hangs on a south-facing wall in direct sunlight. I can't speak for its cold weather performance; our low temp last year was 34F. *** ONE YEAR UPDATE 7/6/23 *** I've used the hose at least twice per week over the last year. unwinding the full 100 feet and dragging it over red brick, cement, crushed granite rock hardscaping, and grass. It has performed flawlessly and has no kinks, leaks, or any kind of problems. I wish all my purchases last year had been this good.I bought a version of this Gilmour hose 20 years ago. I used it a few times each week during that period. I kept it hanging from an AMES 2384010 Wall Mounted Poly Hanger for 15 of those years in direct sunlight on a stucco wall facing south in Phoenix, AZ.That hose still does not kink but has some flat spots and is beat up from dragging it around on crushed granite ground cover. So I was happy to find this new, slightly improved version of the hose. It arrived yesterday and after prepping it I tried it out today. It works great! I'm totally satisfied at this point even though it's only the first day.I prepped the hose yesterday by laying it out in the sun for a few hours, then filling it with water and leaving it in the sun for a couple more hours. In the cooler evening (down to 97deg.) I drained the hose and wound it up on the hanger. Not a single kink. This late morning I unwound it and watered plants and washed the sidewalks using a high-pressure nozzle. No leaks or kinks taking it off, using it, or rewinding it on the hanger. The shiny new brass fittings make me smile.UPDATED 8/12/2022: The hose is still perfect and I am totally satisfied. I wanted to mention that during the first 7 to 10 days the hose "off-gassed" a fairly strong Vinyl-type chemical smell. On the 3rd day, I filled a 3-gallon bucket to wash some patio furniture and I could notice the smell. By the 10th day, after using the hose 3 or 4 times, the smell is totally gone. The Shiny Brass ends still makes me smile.

I wish I could rate this ten stars... worth the price. AMAZING hose!
Short review: This hose is amazing, Made in the USA, tough as nails yet flexible, will not kink EVER, and I love it. Buy it now.Longer review:I bought a home depot memorial day special hose for $19.95 (same size as this one) and thought "how different can hoses be? this one says kink free." Three months of hose torture ensued, with me trying various tactics (e.g. only moving hose when it's pressurized) to try to keep it from kinking. That damn endless kink hose is now in a pile in a garage ready for donation. It has more kinks in it than a Russian porn movie. Every time I used it I became more and more frustrated and thought longingly of this twice the price hose.Take my advice, buy this hose, it is worth it. It's also nice to see it's Made in the USA - at least something is. Amazing warranty. Even in cooler weather it stays flexible. Great brass fittings. They are right, this is the last hose I'll ever buy. Please, Gilmour, don't try to save on cost in the future - keep this hose just the way it is!Hope this helps. Did I mention I love this hose?

Not perfect - but pretty close. Very nice garden hose
I have been using a Gilmour hose for around 13 years. Prior I use to use the black all rubber craftsman hose, which was nice, and worked very well in cold temperatures, but it would get a little heavy, leave my hands black, and if it ever got tangled up it took a good chunk of my Saturday afternoon to untangle. During the spring-summer-fall months I rely on my hose to be ready and working when washing the car or watering plants and grass. The Gilmour is very very reliable, it is not kink-proof, however it is kink resistant, and the few times that I have had a kink was my fault and easily fixed. This past late winter/early fall I needed to exercise the Lifetime Warranty...and it was an extremely and user-friendly process. Somehow I developed a small hole near the connector, I'm not sure if it was my fault, an animal chewed it or a defect. I filed a claim through the Gilmour website and provided pictures. FOUR days later I received a response stating that my new replacement hose was being shipped. FOUR days after that I received the new hose. In one week and one day after submitting a claim that my hose had failed, I had a new hose in my hand. MADE IN USA.

good hose but check back in ten years
I've got a lot of gardens and a few spigots. I need long hoses to reach everywhere. But, since I tend to leave my hoses under pressure and out in the sun and in the way - they tend to get really disgusting and the couplings a bit bent and a pinhole here and there. So, I was looking for a hose that would last. This hose seems really solid; it's color makes it noticeable (to avoid tripping, but it does call attention to itself if that bothers you in the garden); it works, but I would expect a hose to work. The only problem so far is that is has kinked on me. It's probably unrealistic to expect a hose to NOT kink unless it weighs a ton (and light-weight was important cause I'm pulling it all over the place). And, it unkinks easily from a distance - if you use a throwing motion. In other words, you don't often have to walk back to the kick to unkink it. Not a big problem in any case. But, with hoses, reviews should really be done five and ten years after purchase. The true value of this hose will only be proven then.
