Crap.

I got this to test the soil in my grow beds to make sure they had proper Ph levels. After poking through multiple bed I noticed that the reading would never change. At this point it was time to find out if I am just bad at gardening or had a failed tool. Turns out I had a failed tool. I don't know why there is even a light sensor setting on it because well you know your eyes can kinda tell you that. Should've been my first red flag.

This is invaluable to me. I have so many plants and when you need to let some of them (like succulents and cacti) dry out completely but keep some (like a peace lily or a Venus fly trap) a little moist, it's so nice to have something reusable and reads super easily. I would recommend to anyone with several plants that have different watering needs. It will save you from over or under watering!

This meter will not read ph AT ALL. I've tried a sample pot of soil then added ph down a little at a time trying to get a 6.5 ph soil. The meter always reads 7.5 ph. no matter what...even when it is washed off, dried and stored in the box the reading remains 7.5.The light meter function is very directional and therefor not very useful.The moisture meter function seems to work ok but so does sticking my finger in the soil. Would not buy this brand again!

Well, I don't think any of these things around this price are going to be 100% accurate, but I do think that caving and getting one of these has made my life tons easier. Seems accurate most of the time, and if you're unsure, it's best to poke around in different spots. As the instructions say, it won't do you any good to submerge in water—doesn't work that way. But seems pretty accurate overall and I won't go without one from now on!

I feel it's not the most accurate and a little cheaply made

Quality of the product was good. Built well and easy to read gauge. The instructions were clear and concise. The readings were very close to what I had from a soil test that was sent in, so I would presume that the results were close to accurate. Would need to conduct multiple readings to create a baseline to determine how close.For a quick, easy to use tester that you can feel is within a very close proximity to accurate results, I would recommend this product.

The pH reading never changes - by the shrubs, by the flowers, by the vegetables, by the blueberries where I added aluminum sulfate, under the pine trees, in the grass. It's the same pH all the time.
