works well, lacks instr
I hope someone makes a Youtube showing the assembly of this product because mine sat for 3 wks until I got a mechanic to assemble for me. The compressor specs appear to have been put into an online translator and that w/ a diagram of numbered parts is what you have to work with. For those like me who are more adept in making cakes than working with compressors, here's what worked for us. Take the hand held nozzle-wand that is silver color with the small cup on top for cake decorating. Inside this wand's box is numbered diagram of parts. Remove 25, 26, 27. Use 19 & 20 (20 was attached to blue corded hose)to connect corded hose to wand. After you frost or fondant the cake, put some topping on a plate or cracker to practice on. I found psi about 32 was just good for spraying onto buttercream. With higher pressures when nozzle is close to cake for small lines, you can carve a canyon into it; 32 psi didn't cut into the surface. Turn the black knob on the top front counter clockwise to decrease the pressure; the pressure was factory set at 60.I'm more thrifty with color than some of the Youtube presentations. I put 3 drops food color from one of the large bottles into the color cup on top of wand. This was enough to make an inch wide band around a 9" cake. You can easily add more drops of color. To change color, I put water into the cup and then sprayed it into a bowl lined with an old washcloth so didn't spatter. Keep rinsing until runs clear. Then can put away or use another color. There are lots of Youtube presentations on airbrushing cakes, but getting started with this item was beyond my assembly skills. It does work just fine, good control with lever & holds psi perfectly. Mechanic said it was an excellent compressor and was surprised it cost so little. I haven't used the other wand yet.

Yes :D
I bought this based on reviews and price. When something has phenomenal reviews by people who, well, have written more than just one review (I'm on to you, spam companies!), it's usually pretty good.So.. I got it. It arrived pretty darn fast (I'm still waiting for the airbrush cleaner I bought from another vendor at the same time!). The assembly looked easy.. at first. Follow the advice of another reviewer who put this info up first: take off some of the parts on the gravity feed airbrush until it screws directly to the hose. Don't even worry about all the doo-dads it comes with. I did teflon tape the connection at the machine, since it was suggested in the manual and by reviewers (although you may get a giggle from the manual... apparently you should look for teflon tape where stores sell "sanitary" supplies. I think they mean "plumbing". Heheh). Anyway.. turned it on, and it purred. Not real loud. Stopped at 55lbs (apparently where it was set at or turned to before it was boxed). It took me a sec to figure it out, but just look at the black cap and it'll tell you which was is pressure up and pressure down. The gauge will reflect the psi you set once you run the airbrush a second, so the pressure reduces from the machine and reflects in the guage. It holds pressure nicely, no leaks.I did a real quick test on the shipping box. 3 drops of black lasted *forever*. It also took friggin forever to clean out. I was amazed. Years ago, I would have to refill that little cup over and over and over again. This? I see 4 oz bottles lasting me many years of hobby cakes. Amazing. You get black, white, blue, red, yellow and brown. Those are all the colors you need to make anything you want, really.First impression? I'm excited. The gravity feed trigger is pretty smooth and easy to use. I was able to get fine lines to soft color at 15 lbs easily, no splatter. Will take a little while to get my hand control back, but it's exciting :)Now... my one concern. The machine got a bit warm with the testing and cleaning (all the running at various psi and all). Could be part of the design, could be a flaw. Time and large projects will tell. I will update later after my next cake project.

Nice set. For me the beginner.
I'm solo learning Sugar(Isomalt) sculpting and blowing. I did my first show piece last night. I had to travel back and forth from my sugar work shop in my garage and my Country Club workplace before getting all my peices together in time. Cons: Did not come with cleaning brushes as seen. NO directions on how to clean airbrushes or how to really use them. Compressor does not have a tank, pumps only when you press the trigger and starts high (adjustable at first Press only) 50 psi but flows at 18-21 psi on my unit. I wrecked the needle trying to clean it first time. Pros: Easy to transport, easy to pack, not loud, couple extra atachements not listed come with. All the tooling are prime grade, great air hose, easy to twist on parts, Nice colors for the volume. Comes with a parts list if you ever need replacement parts (hidden under the cases). Even though I messed up the needle on the gravity feed airbrush. I was able to use it still for my first art piece, while changing colors "on the fly". It was my second time ever using an airbrush.

Good basic kit for amateur cake decorator
This kit is a comprehensive starter for a cake decorator looking to try airbrushing. The assembly and use instructions leave a bit to be desired and we had to puzzle our way a fair bit through that part, particularly as there are two different nozzles with different fittings. This was purchased as a gift for my daughter, who is an amateur cake decorator and she has enjoyed learning how to get more out of it.It runs fairly quietly and the spray quality seems decent to me, who knows nothing about this style of airbrush kit.
