Q: Can anyone comment on the process involved with running the cable through the guitar to make permamnent? Thx!

I bought 3 of these. I installed in 3 of my acoustics. I wanted to run the cable through the guitar and add an output jack. if your guitar is a vintage guitar then don't touch it. if it's a guitar that can be replaced easily, I would just do it. great pick up for the price.

Q: getting static when i hook it up to my bose sound system any thoughts?

It may also be because this is the single coil version of the pickup. You may experience less hum with the humbucker version.

Q: Will it work with nylon strings

These types of pickups will not work on nylon strings. It is a magnetic pickup so it can only sense the vibrations from metal objects. For nylon strings, use a piezo or transducer pickup instead. See this wikipedia excerpt for info: "A magnetic pickup consists of a permanent magnet with a core of material such as alnico or ceramic, wrapped with a coil of several thousand turns of fine enameled copper wire. The pickup is most often mounted on the body of the instrument, but can be attached to the bridge, neck or pickguard, as on many electro-acoustic archtop jazz guitars and string basses. The permanent magnet creates a magnetic field; the motion of the vibrating steel strings disturbs the field, and the changing magnetic flux induces a voltage in the coil. This signal is then carried to amplification or recording equipment via a cable. There may also be an internal preamplifier stage between the pickup and cable."

Great

Its pretty good. Gives a sharp and punchy tone for acousticians. But the tone is a little bit dry for a musician who are looking for acoustic piezo sound. Good product.

Good product, meets the claims made, does "ring" once in a while (as it is a single coil), but Fishman does mention it can ring, so no reason to be disappointed after knowing the facts.

Not work with nylon string. With matel string sound is not satisfying.

I placed this order on September 29th when there was an offer running. At that time, there was a 38% discount on an MRP of around 12,000, and I paid an amount of 7,010 after the discount. However, the product I received had an MRP of around 9,000. When I checked, I found out that the product was not working, so I returned it. The pickup does a good job. It's easy to install but the chord length is small so needs an extension. The price is a bit high due to import taxes, but the quality of the product is good and it does a good job with my guitar .
