Perfect for my son's G-tube
My g-tube dependent son has been on this formula for over 4 years now, we love it, he tolerates it well & gets all of the nutrition he needs & will sometimes even take some of it by mouth. I'm grateful for Kate Farms for making a great product, without sacrificing ethical practices being vegan!

Picky 5 year old will drink this!
I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to share our experience. Hopefully this helps someone who is on the fence about paying so much for something they are unsure whether their child will like or not.My 5 year old has been diagnosed with EoE and is not allowed to eat anything containing dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, nuts or seafood. He is very underweight and a ridiculously picky eater, even before he was placed on these restrictions. It’s hard for us to convince him to try new food or drinks, and he usually has one taste and gags or throws up. He hates 99% of all fruits, will not eat vegetables, and has literally been surviving on allergen free toast and hot dogs. Our doctor recommended we try Kate Farms at our last appointment. I was really hesitant because we’ve tried other allergen free drinks that we’ve found at Sprouts or Whole Foods and he didn’t like any of them. I cringe to spend so much money on food that gets thrown away after one taste.A week ago I finally decided to just spend the $46 for a case of 12 cartons (we call them “shakes,” which sounds a lot better to a 5 year old). I bribed him with a surprise toy if he would drink a whole “shake.” It took him about 30-45 minutes to drink the first one, but he didn’t gag or throw up - I tried it and it tasted better than anything I’ve found that he can have. A few more bribes later and he has decided that he will drink them on his own, chose a shake over toast for breakfast this morning, and even asked us to pack one in his lunch for school.I’m still terrified that he will decide one day that he is sick of them, but so far I am unbelievably relieved that he’s getting calories and organic nutrition in something he actually likes!1/6/24 Update: My son is now almost 10 years old and still drinks these every day. He is still super picky, but eats a few more things than he used to. This is the most nutrition he gets out of anything and he usually has two a day. I know that these “shakes” have been the only thing keeping him healthy and I couldn’t be more grateful for this company.

Give it a try! You won't be disappointed. Please read review.
I hope someone finds this helpful. I bought this after my family transitioned to a plant based lifestyle. My 21 month old before the transition was becoming a picky eater. He however loved loved loved the 'Once upon a farm' food pouches and smoothie drinks(all plant based). At first, I was like great at least he likes to eat these but I knew he needed something more so in my search for plant based supplemental nutrition i found Kate farms. Let me tell you, my son did not care for these at all. But like any determined parent, I figured out what works for him. At first I tried blending the Kate farms drink with frozen berries to make a smoothie. That kinda worked but he would only take a couple sips then was over it. I then thought, What if I mixed his favorite 'Once upon a farm's smoothie with 'Kate farms'? And et voila!! It worked!! All I did was mix 50/50. Half 'Kate farms' and half smoothie from 'once upon a farm' and he chugs it down all own his own. I did this for about 2 weeks and just last night he drank the 'Kate farms' formula all on it's own.So yes, it is chalky but with these few tweaks you can give your child the nutrition they need. Also, it helps if its chilled in the fridge.

Disgusting taste no matter what
These taste so horrible that my daughter refuses to drink them no matter how I tried to doctor it up. I tried over ice, blending it with fruit, mixing with chocolate syrup … nothing helped. They have sort of a metallic taste to them so I’m not sure if I received a bad batch but the expiration date is in 2026, so I don’t know what the problem is, but a total waste of money since they can’t be returned.

Pricy but worth it if you need help
Our child has a pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) which has caused him to be failure to thrive his whole life. We bought these drinks hoping they'd give him a little more caloric intake per day and help him gain weight (the other pediatric drinks were not doing so and he did not like the flavor). We add 2 tbsp of chocolate syrup to make it "chocolate milk" for him and we can get him to drink it if he refuses to eat a meal. It's been wonderful but it is very pricy. However, if your child has a diagnosed issue requiring them to have extra nutrition, home health is a great option to get this through. You just need a doctor to send on the request for you and insurance picks up a lot of the cost.
