Don't be put off by the price. This chalk lasts much longer than "that other brand" and is superior in every way. It writes evenly, has a smooth surface that's comfortable to hold, and erases cleanly with minimal dust.

I've always hated chalk and chalk boards, I have a few around the house the wife likes using to keep us organized and I hate writing on it with the cheap chalk we have. Saw this on a video once and when I saw it on amazon I'd figured I would give it a try. All I have to say is that me and the wife now just want to use chalkboard for any reason now. Quality is superb and the feel of the chalk is amazing! I would definitely recommend this product, I may even have to order a bigger case next time.

This is very soft chalk and it writes very smooth because of this. It also breaks very easily for the same reason. Don’t buy it for kids like I did and end up with 4 or 5 tiny pieces of chalk instead of one. This will be my go to brand for my chalk needs in future but I’ll stick with crayola for the grandkids. The pigment is good. It doesn’t look patchy but instead has an even dark pigment on the chalk board

I was really looking forward to this product. It was received in an Amazon bubble envelope in the USPS mail system. The chalk box was crushed and all the chalk sticks were broken. There was no recourse through the automated Amazon system. The vendor may want to highlite product damage through rough handling.

Breaks easily, but hands down one of the smoothest chalks I used and very visible.

I'd heard about the Nagoromo being a math teacher favorite, and I needed chank for m teaching job, so I decided to get it. Very clean, very smooth writing, erases perfectly!

I don't really use chalk buy watched a documentary about the brand and was curious. Yes the material is very good, they slide on the board, don't break, and don't spill ANY powder. Real Japanese craft quality.

The quality of these chalks really is second to none. It has a great feel in the hand, the marks made are crisp and clear, and when used on a real chalkboard, it makes that great sound as you make the marks. I saw that some folks were disappointed that their package had broken pieces because it wasn't packaged very well - I was lucky, but the package should have been better protected.
