Televue 2x Barlow 1.25 inch (1-1/4 in.)

If you must have a 2X Barlow lens this is the one to buy for great eye relief and crystal clear clarity. Switched from Celestron and was gob smacked at the difference! I’ll be replacing every Celestron lens I have for Televue’s. Highly Recommended.

Televue is a traditionally brand in optics, it is recognized as a great optic maker. This Barlow has excellent quality. Compared with my previous Barlow (Celestron) is much better. A good Barlow like this optimize all your optic, in the other hand a bad one broke all your system. In this way is useful to spend the money in an intelligent manner. Buy this Barlow if you want to have a good optic complement.

If you're reading this, you've no doubt heard that TeleVue makes some stunning optics. Aside from the fact that the barlow is a *tad* bit long (make sure you don't hit your diagonal with it!), it's incredibly clear and everything you'd expect from a barlow in this price range. The only reason I have it 4 stars is a) the length and b) the high point scientific 2.5x barlow is quite a bit cheaper, and aside from the magnification, I can't notice any visible optical difference. This is no doubt an excellent piece, but there may be better *value* out there for those that are more concerned about stretching a dollar.

So upset with this order- It doesnt even work - at all! My guess is they change the lens and sell the brand with random lens since its detachable!! Try to ask for a refund and I couldnt Oh well lesson learned !

Got this to replace the celestron omni 2x Barlow that came with my first telescope (a Celestron 102mm Refractor). This barlow has a noticeably sharper image, i'm not sure if it's because of focusing or just my imagination, but the televue barlow is actually slightly more magnified then the celestron barlow. Construction quality is very nice. Overall very happy with this purchase and will be looking to get more Televue products in the future. The one issue I had with this barlow was the locking mechanism for the eyepiece. Instead of just a simple screw to hold the eyepiece in place, this barlow has a screw connected to a metal band inside the eyepiece holder. When you tighten the screw it tightens the band. This can be a bit tricky in the dark, and I had to stop and reseat/adjust the band a few times after switching eye pieces. Fortunately i've gotten used to using the locking mechanism and this problem has gone away, but it can be tricky at first!

Televue makes very nice products and this is a good example. Very clear and uniform across FOV, good build quality, finish is excellent. Looking at picking up the 3X as well.

It's Televue! What else can you say? The best most high quality lenses you can own. The four element design is miles better than a normal 2 element design. Spend the extra money, you will not be disappointed.

This is a very good barlow but it is not any better than the one I already had that I paid less than half for.
