Great little engine
Well built and impressive to look at and operate. A great teaching tool and just fun to watch in action.

Carl S. Excellent demonstration of the Sterling Engine Cycle.
I purchased two Sterling Engines. Very satisfied. Here is my 50 cents explanation of the physics. Both Sterling Engines are driven by the external heat source. Heat flows, based on thermodynamic principles, from the bottom heated flat plate to the upper plate, which is at room temperature. Inside the engine is trapped sealed air that flows between two pistons. One piston, located at the hot end, heats up the air contained within the hot cylinder. Heated air expands and pushes the piston. The heated air flows then to the cold piston. The cold piston, exposed to the cooler ambient air, cools the air inside the cylinder. Cooled air contracts (the volume decreases), pulling the cold cylinder as the air volume decreases due to cooling. The two pistons are connected to the flywheel. The cooled air returns to the hot piston and the cycle starts again. The two pistons also pressurize and depressurize the air during the cycle. The cold piston is primarily responsible for driving the flywheel. The flywheel rotation is the mechanical energy created by the Sterling heat engine. An excellent source of information is Wikipedia.

Interesting and fun for a minute...
This is a very interesting piece of machinery, it's fun to play with for a few minutes and to show friends... but then you're left with a $160 paperweight that you don't really use. I ended up returning it.

El equipo arranca pero se apaga rápidamente, no dura 5 minutos de forma continua aún cuando la llama está alta
