Another Hit!!
Like a lot of military types, I'm drawn to these types of tales. I always considered Tom Clancy as the best author of this genre, but I must admit that Vince Flynn is just as good if not better. Sadly, both men have passed so we have lost two of America's greatest storytellers, but the works that they have left behind will entertain fans through time immemorial.Buy it, read it and enjoy!!!ππΎπΊπ²ππΎπΊπ²ππΎπΊπ²ππΎπΊπ²ππΎπΊπ²

Just a well written book.
We really lost a master plotter and story teller when the author died. I am rereading all the Mitch Rapp books again. This is one of the better ones, but all of them are excellent reads. By this time the characters are fully developed, so the story is the most important part of the book. I get a silent smile at the by play of all the main characters. I'm smiling right now.

Flynn was one of the greats
It is such a shame that Flynn passed in 2013, he was one of the great espionage/thriller authors. Few books are worth reading more than once, his are. Mitch Rapp is relentless, as are the enemies of the U.S. His disdain for politicians and politics mirrors my own. They are a bunch of self-serving jack wagons who should mostly be thrown out of office, if not jailed for treason.

Loved This Book!
I feel like this and Consent to Kill are the best books in the series so far! Flynn is really hitting his stride for the Rapp series. I read this in 2 days. The character development is as good as it gets. Rapp is a character you have to love and he gets balanced out perfectly by Kennedy. I liked how this book changed up who the villains were. It's a must read book

It was a sad day in America
It was a sad day in America, for those who have enjoyed "The Mitch Rapp Series" to only have the rug pulled out from us when we learned that Vince Flynn (Creator & Author) had died. Mitch Rapp, is the American version of 007 only better. Everyone, who is worried about the crazy world we really live in and the "change" that is happening to America should read the entire series. The Act of Treason (which I have read 3 times) is just another fabulous example of how timely and so realistic, Vince brought his fiction to be so believable. One could only hope there are Men like Mitch Rapp out their fighting for America. The whole series makes for a fantastic Christmas Gift.PS I hope someday somebody can pick-up the place where Mitch Rapp left off and continue the series.

Great lead into next in series
Finished reading this on Kindle, which I love having as a busy person. I keep it with me at all times to use while waiting in line time or waiting for prescription to be filled. I can get in some extra reading time, I don't get stressed out over having to stand in line or sit while being a "number." I am almost finished reading this series, but at the rate Flynn churns them out, I wonder if I ever will get to the "end."Β Act of Treason Looking forward to his use of current events in his next few hits. Act of Treason is a great lead in to the next in the series, which for some reason I read out of order. But, you know what, it really didn't matter. Each one stands on its own. I do find I keep a file on my phone of the list as published in chronological order. Soon I will get to the point where I read the one about Rapps life before the series started. It is truly facinating to have a peek into the most private meetings at the highest level of government and view the turf wars that have great significance in our lives that a majority of us are never even aware. I look forward to having time to read some of the other books recommended because of my interest in the Flynn series. Hope I live long enough!

Another Good Mitch Rapp Book
I enjoyed this book. Much like the others, this book fits in the form of a Tom Clancy novel. It's not masterfully written and can use technical jargon too much, but the plot and the pace are thoroughly enjoyable. I have read the entire Mitch Rapp series to this point (books 1 through 7).

A great read, but there must be an epilogue somewhere...
I'll explain the review's title in a minute. First, having finished all of Lee Child's books, I was looking for something to keep me occupied until "superman" Jack Reacher emerges again from Child's imagination. I foundVince Flynn and Reacher's counterpart, Mitch Rapp. The difference is that Child deals in a broader arena of crime while Flynn is political.Normally, I don't like political novels. I get enough politics in 2008 from the news. But Flynn has tapped into the depths of my willingness to accept conspiracy theories, and he's got me! While I highly recommend "Act of Treason," I would suggest you start with earlier books - though I admit that I haven't read any yet. However, there is a distinct feeling that this is an "interim" book, one that is begging for a sequel. As enjoyable a read as this was, I was a little disappointed with the end and had the feeling that I was in the middle of a serial, waiting for the final chapters. Still, this was, not to be trite, a page-turner and in 2008 enough to give one a sense of foreboding. The best thing is that there is now a continuation of my reading history from Saunders and Sanders to WEB Griffin to Child to Flynn with a few Parker thrown in for bad measure.I've already ordered three more Flynn novels. I haven't enjoyed Grisham since his second novel; I never cared for Dan Brown. Anybody have other recommendations knowing now that Saunders, Sanders, Child and Flynn are at the top of my reading lists?

Loose Ends & Inaccuracies
I hesitate to criticise a Vince Flynn book but this one was, for me, full of "loose ends" and inaccuracies in the plot. This has been mentioned by other readers.Publisher Please note: -The worst inaccuracy by far is the insistance that Cyprus is a Greek island. It was granted independence by Britain in 1960 when it become an independent republic. "Interference" by the military junta in Greece led to the invasion by Turkey in 1974 thus partitioning the island. Limmasol is is a maritime port and the international airport is in Larnaca. I know that Americans have a scant regard for European geography but meticulous research about the US political system, the military, weapons and so on, surely someone in the editorial department could have spotted this .

Revenge
Perhaps just a little too much politics in the storyline although the usual Mitch Rapp action mostly made up for it. Enjoyable read.
