ID: a must own for any serious designer...
Look... I'll cut to the chase. This is another fantastic release by super talented designer, David Airey. This book provides such invaluable insights offered by some of the industry's most fervent leaders on visual branding and identity design. Purchase it. Study it. Display it in your design studio. Enjoy!

Good for Agency Leaders and Consultants of Any Stripe
Somehow Airey manages to be both high concept and refreshingly granular and approachable in his detailed description of both branding/design and running a business that produces them. This book contains valuable lessons for any business services professional whose work is consultative.

Great for creative agencies, decent for entrepreneurs and other designers
A beautifully designed coffee table book written in case study format. Lots of practical insights about branding and design from the perspective of real design agencies. The subtitle "Definitive Guide to Visual Branding" however is an oversell because about 2/3 of the book is about best practices specific to client/agency relationship within branding agencies and creative studios. These topics include "client acquisition," "invoicing," and writing "terms and conditions".The specifics on design strategy and branding are somewhat lacking and a bit vague, but there are still some good insights from the pros.- 9/10 for those working/aspiring to work at creative agencies- 7/10 for entrepreneurs and designers not looking to get into the agency game

This book will help you stop reinventing the wheel
This book is a pure gem if you are running an interactive/design agency. Instead of spending years learning how to run your business, save yourself time and see how others do it!

Great images but very repetitive text
Great photos and some nuggets of interesting information for the identity design of each case BUT very, very repetitive with each chapter talking too much about same thing again and again! Disappointing

Great experience gathered
The good thing about the book:- A lot of real world experience, from different Creative Teams- Several common points to take into account. from different Creative TeamsThe thing that the book is lacking:- Specific ways to perform the tasks mentioned in the Case Studies (like how to define strategy)I say it's lacking because by the description of the book, it's easy to assume that some step-by-step processes would be included.Even without that, the book is valuable and enjoyable.

I adore this book.
I adore this book so much I can't decide whether to keep it on my desk or on my coffee table. Maybe get two? I adore how in-depth the case studies are. Inspiring!
