Review: Years ago there was an amazing mail order company called 'Chinaberry Books' that suggested books based on the art, the writing, etc. I was never disappointed. This was one of their suggestions and I read this often to my children. They learned about life in a different place in a different time, with a simple sweetness. Bedtime stories are a magical way to end the day. This one I bought for my grandchildren.

I got a copy of this book from a book fair at school when I was younger and it was an instant family favorite, such a cute perfect story of country life. At some point several years ago my old copy vanished and no amount of searching the house produced it so I was so happy to find this book while shopping on Amazon ,and in hardcover too! Which is better than the paperback I lost. Overall this is a great children’s book that adults and children will both enjoy and has such cute illustrations!
