2nd best version of Audeze house sound. This comes very close to LCD-4. It lacks little bit of the 3D/holographic sound compared to LCD-4 but on the other hand mids are not as much muted like the LCD-4. This brings the mids of LCD-2 and holographic sound of LCD-4.

I had to return these as there was no really distinctive difference had a healthy pair of ear phones. Nice, but not nice enough.

Amazing sound quality.It is the best of the best.But... it is too heavy...

Haven’t even owned the headphones for 2 years and the mini XLR fell apart. They want $600!! Stay away! Scam!!!

UPDATE: I can no longer recommend Audeze. I had two driver failures within a year with these headphones. My history of progression: Beyerdynamics DT1990 pros—->Audeze LCD-X——>LCD-4z(these). Ok, so the LCD-X’s are amazing in sound quality and sound stage. These just improve upon what the LCD-X can do. More precision, larger sound stage, and more euphoria for your ears/brain. Build quality is top tier as would be expected at this price point. The magnesium housing and carbon fiber really lighten these up over the traditional LCD-4 version. If you love the way Audeze sounds, particularly the lcd-x, you will be in-love with these. These provide pure auditory bliss to your ears.UPDATE (3-19-2021):After owning these for a while, I wanted to update my sound impressions. In comparison to the LCD-X. The LCD-X has a great horizontal(Left to Right), sound stage, but very little front to back imagery. The LCD-4z is more 3Dimensional in presence. It’s as if you are surrounded by the music in a recording studio with the artists themselves. Also, despite only being 15 ohms, they actually thrive and work to their full potential with a powerful headphone amplifier. I personally had the Chord Mojo and Chord Hugo 2 before upgrading to the much more powerful Chord Hugo TT2. The TT2 really opened these headphones up on the bottom end. There was much more low end grunt and bass awareness with a powerful Amplifier. If you ever add the Chord Hugo M Scaler to the TT2 or DAVE, you will be in heaven! There is just no going back after listening or owning a Chord M Scaler when paired with a great headphone Amp/DAC, like the TT2. These headphones are everything I hoped for and I can’t wait to come home after work almost every day and listen to them using Roon & Qobuz music. Thanks.
