Another great kit from Guillow's
I have building balsa models since the early/mid 1960's, when you could get them for about 30 cents. They were solid body balsa, and I remember breaking them more often than not during assembly. Then during the mid to late 70's I got back into balsa kits, they were die cut and weren't bad, unless the dies were dull. Now I recently decided to return to the hobby and was pleasantly surprised with the laser cut parts, which separate without breaking. I have not yet started on this one, but I have done some others recently that are great kits. Though I do wish they came with the plastic props that would be more authentic, (3 - 4 blade props) than the two blade. I have tried to keep them more authentic than the two blade. And since the advanced adhesives (CA's) they are more enjoyable than ever, since the parts stay where they are suppose to be without moving, not like the older glues did.Back to the kit, I did open it and inspected it, and I am looking forward to building it..

Looks great when built, and a pleasure to boot
I bought this kit on a lark and took a while to get started on it. Once I did, I was very glad I did. The kit is very easy to understand and build. The instructions are very clear and if you take your time with each step, the results are fantastic. There are options for flying this kit with various motive power, but I built it as a flying specimen and am hanging it from my ceiling. Painted, and with decals applied, it is quite an amazing sight. most of the parts are balsa and the laser cut forms make this kit a breeze to build while achieving great results. If you've never built one of these types of models before and are hesitant because they look difficult, try this type as this kit came out great for me.

Came out beautiful. Working on my next one.
Guillows is the GOAT, I built a few as a kid. Never RC. Now I am retired and my bucket list is to build a collection of every Guillows Flyer, converted to RC. Between U tube and Amazon it will be do-able. This one has all spectrum electronics, included AS3x Safe.

High quality wood and perfect laser cut
In the last 3 years I have purchased 15 Guillows airplanes and the balsa wood quality has been poor and caused much breakage while assembly. This kit is fantastic and back to high quality wood and the laser cutting is perfect. I read some time back that there were supply shortages for good balsa but this is now over. This kit will make a strong and easy to build model.

Their products are great quality and simple and concise instructions and plans.
I am an old man who has rated Guillows models as so much fun to make over the years. I’ve made many many of your kits and continue to try and make a better one each time. Thank you for the quality product that has brought so much enjoyment to me over my life time. This is not a shallow response. Thanks so much.

Lighter and better
Guillow's kits have been unchanged for 50 years until now. Laser-cut kits are far superior to old die-punched versions. The balsa is much better quality and is now selected for lightness rather than hardness and ability to survive cutting dies. Unfortunately, when retooling for laser cutting, they retained the heavy outlines of the original kits and there is just too much wood in them to be really good flyers. The quality of wood, vacuformed parts, and plans is very good and they build into impressive models. Just don't expect them to be super flyers. The stuck-in-the-60s instructions are quite funny in places, such as "mail us your questions and don't forget to include the box ends". If they had freshened up the plans and box art, and lost some weight during the laser conversion, these kits would be outstanding. They are still quite good, though, and within the abilities of most beginners. They are a good introduction to the sport of rubber-powered scale free flight.

You will need a 23”x36” or bigger layout board
Holy cow! I just opened it and it is bitchin! I have put more than one together so this should come out nice. BIGGER INSTRUCTIONS MAKE IT BETTER. More details too! I will be back when it’s finished! UPDATE: I have made mods to mine and I took away 1 ⭐️ because the 1/16” stringers are AWFUL. THEY ARE TOO THIN AND VULNERABLE. Out of all the ones provided only maybe 9 are worth a shit. Be patient.
