perfect fit and works well
I’m very pleased with the Samsung DA97-15217D Ice Maker Assembly! It’s a genuine OEM part that was a perfect replacement for my old, malfunctioning ice maker. The installation was relatively straightforward (I’m not super handy, but with the right tools, I was able to do it myself), and it fit perfectly into my Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker works flawlessly now, producing ice quickly and efficiently. I was a bit hesitant at first, but this replacement part has restored my fridge to its full functionality. No more problems with ice production, and the ice cubes come out just as they should—firm and clear! The quality of the part is excellent, and it feels sturdy and well-made. It’s great to know I’m using an original Samsung part, which gives me confidence in its longevity. If you're looking to replace your ice maker, this is definitely a solid choice and well worth the investment. I highly recommend the Samsung DA97-15217D Ice Maker Assembly if you need to replace your ice maker—it’s a reliable and easy fix!

Perfect replacement for DA97-12317A
I have a 11 year old french door Samsung fridge that has the icemaker inside the fridge area that ices over. If you have one, you know exactly what I mean. I had fixed the airseal issue on mine myself, but all of a sudden the icemaker stopped producing ice. Checking for errors it gave the 39E error code which means there's something wrong with the icemaker itself. The DA97-15217D is the replacement for my fridge, and the one listed in the Samsung service bulletin to replace prior ones. After putting it in, my fridge is making ice again as it should. There were no fitment issues at all. The color of the plastic is different and doesn't match the shiny white like the prior one. It's more of a beige-ish color, but that's how they are even in new Samsung french door fridges with this design. Not an issue because you only see it if you take out your ice bucket. Of note, it does not come with the screw that secures the under part of the icemaker that pivots down off of the cooling coil. You'll need to keep the one from your current icemaker. Works great, and happy to keep my fridge going for a few more years!

It works! Install was not too difficult
The original ice-maker on our Samsung fridge is the worst! For 3-4 years it’s been a problem, even after a warranty repair. We were ready to get a new fridge. So glad we didn’t. Wish I purchased this 2 years ago! It worked perfect and is fully compatible with my Samsung model: RF28K9380SR. There are no install instructions, but anyone can do the install.. it’s not completely intuitive so search for a video by Doctor Parts.

Does not appear to be an OEM part.
This is the second ice maker unit I've installed in this refrigerator. The unit I replaced the original ice maker with worked great for 7 months then quit making ice two weeks ago. It was an off-brand unit and I wanted an OEM unit this time. This does not appear to be an OEM unit. The Samsung logo is not on the box and the unit itself has the same off-white color that my last unit had. Given that this would be the third ice maker in the fridge (the original plus two replacement units) since it was purchased in 2019, I purchased the 2 year protection plan. I have a feeling it will be utilized. This unit took 13 days to get here which was pretty pathetic and about a week later than the estimate when purchased. Installation was a breeze for the simple fact that I've done it before. Hopefully this lasts longer than 7 months but I'm not holding my breath.

Replaced our B-suffix unit and fixed the ice maker.
Absolutely perfect and fixed my Samsung ice maker immediately. Our fridge came with the house. A month after moving in in 2023 the ice maker failed the then the freezer compressor failed (ruined a lot of food). The compressor and ice maker were both replaced under home warranty. 2 1/2 years later and there's no ice in the ice maker. I believe the defrost heater failed because there was ice in the tray. Instead of dealing with repair services, some research showed this was an easy fix. Our original replacement was a B-suffix. This D-suffix unitwent right in, no issues. Two hours later the 1st ice dropped into the tray.

This fixed my icemaker! (For about 6 months)
I was having the exact same issue as everyone else, icemaker frosts/freezes up and no ice is made. The fridge is out of warranty and after contacting Samsung about the issue with my RF28HFEDBSR/AA, they refused to lift a finger to address the issue. They'd be happy to send someone out though, at my cost. This will be the last Samsung product that I ever purchcase, of any kind. Two weeks ago I installed this new icemaker modual that I purchased from Amazon, DA97-15217D (the old modual was a DA82-15217A) along with the drip clip kit, DA82-02367A. My fridge did not have any clips of any sort installed before this. I also sealed up the icemaker compartment with silicone. In the two weeks the icemaker has worked as intended, no frost, no icing up, just ice cubes in the bin where they belong. We'll see how long that lasts, maybe I'll get lucky? EDIT... Well it seems as if my luck has run out. My icemaker is back to it's old tricks. The repair that I outlined above worked for about 6 months before reverting back to frosting/freezing up and having to be defrosted when it stops making ice. I did learn a new trick though, forced defrost. There's a 'secret menu' that allows you to set the fridge to forced defrost that will help melt some of the frost in the ice compartment. I had to run this mode twice before it helped clear the frost buildup. I still had to use my heat gun and scraper to clear all of the ice but the defrost mode certainly helped. Do a search on youtube for how to enter this mode. The instructions there are pretty clear except on how to exit the forced defrost mode. You don't have to do anything, this mode will terminate once it's done. Depending on how much defrosting needs to be done. The first time that I ran it it took ~45 mins, the second ~20 mins. Samsung is junk, do NOT buy any of their fridges! I finally fixed our Samsung icemaker!!!! Yep, I bought an LG fridge and got rid of the thorn in my side.
