I Don't know how they work, but they really are effective. The actual units aren't bad looking either. I'm using the Waterfall refills at the moment and they have a nice 'n fresh scent that gets stronger the harder they work, but never gets overpowering. Dead easy to set up, the first drips of water in the collection tank start after about an hour. The tank's a good size and, by the time the refill's gone, the tank's about half full. The refills last for about 4-6 weeks in an average size spare bedroom that we use for clothes drying during the Winter, and there's very little condensation on the windows, even on a frosty night. There used to be lots before we started using these. The one in the Lounge lasts for 6-8 weeks. Bearing in mind how well they work, and the condensation and mildew etc they prevent I reckon they're excellent value for money, too.

I picked up the UniBond Aero 360 moisture absorber to help keep the air fresh and reduce damp in the room, and it’s been a great little addition to the house. It’s completely silent, needs no power, and just quietly gets on with pulling excess moisture out of the air. I’ve noticed less condensation on the windows and the room generally feels fresher, especially in the mornings. It also helps prevent that slightly musty smell you sometimes get in closed-up rooms. The design is neat and not too bulky, and changing the refill tab is quick and mess-free. It’s reassuring to use in a home environment because there are no sprays or strong fragrances being released — just simple moisture control. A practical, low-maintenance product that does exactly what it’s meant to. Ideal for keeping rooms feeling fresher and helping to tackle damp and condensation.

Works and draws moisture out.. never really noticed a scent. Only buy as bundle or when on offer due to price as depending where you put them can need replacing quite often.
