EXCELLENT FULL-FEATURED live mixer that also functions GREAT as a direct-to-DAW recording interface!!
As a full-time keyboard player/singer/bass pedal player for 30+ years, I must say that Behringer thought of just about EVERYTHING when they designed this very reasonably priced but FULL featured and great sounding mixer/DAW interface. The first unit I received developed a bad (i.e. intermittent) input channel only after about a hour of use. It may have been an "open box" item. I asked for a replacement that was not from an "open box", and it has worked flawlessly every night for 4 hours per night/7 days per week on the job for the past two months. This mixer will simultaneously record all mixer individual input tracks (plus the stereo R/L mixer output tracks) directly to a lap top computer (Mac or PC) that has standard DAW recording software. I use Presonus Studio Live 3 Pro, and I had zero set-up problems or hassles. This mixer sends every input channel and the two aux sends directly to the DAW to be re-mixed at a later time. You can do this WHILE you are playing and using the mixer in a live setting, or when recording with headphones. The channel gain LED's on EACH channel make setting the gain for various mics, keyboards, bass sources, drum machines, etc. easy. The reverb/delay combo effect preset is surprisingly good for live use, but the reverb quality is not as smooth as a high-end rack mount unit, or software-based pro reverb. However, given all that this mixer does for live use, plus easy to set up direct-to-DAW recording while playing live, plus very convenient playback monitoring options where literally NO repatching of playback cables is required to hear or play along with what you have recorded on the computer, frankly I would have gladly paid twice the $400.00 purchase price for this mixer. Importantly, the mic pre-amps and EQ sound excellent to me without having to use additional outboard gear such as high-end mic pre-amps and/or graphic equalizers patched in via the handy TRS insert jacks on the first four mixer channels. I tried using a high-end $1,100.00 mic pre and a graphic equalizer, but honestly working with the mixer on it's own ended up sounding just as good or better to me if you take your time and carefully "A/B" your sound choices and adjustments. Plug in a good mic (Shure Beta 58 sounds great for live use, and Shure KSM9 sounds great for recording), work with the mixer EQ and one-button compressors, and you should be happy for live sound. I've been recording the DAW tracks "pre-fader/pre-EQ" so the mixer settings do not effect what goes directly to the computer, but this "Pre" vs. "Post" function can be changed to "Post" fader and EQ if you so desire. If this unit holds up, I would consider purchasing another one for a spare, but I think I just hang on to this one and see what else they come up with. As a combo live mixer/DAW interface, I don't see another product currently out there, regardless of the brand or cost, that will do everything this unit does. The only thing that I wish Behringer wound not have deleted is a 1/4" female FX jack to turn the reverb on and off for live use which is important to me, but the way around this is to use an external rack mount reverb that has a foot switch, and is brought back in via one of the two stereo aux returns. Summary: A VERY useful and good sounding mixer for an unbelievably low price!

Excellent mixer, very quiet
This is one of the lowest cost multitrack USB interface/mixers you can buy, and certainly the lowest cost one that will do 96kHz. I'm running mine with some synths direct out to speakers, no problems at all. Effects are decent enough, and the mixer is quiet - no hissing or pickup of other unwanted signals. Only thing I note so far is it runs a little warm.

Broken on arrival
Peace, arrived broken. It was used so I will say I don't know how a new one would sound. Went with Yamaha mgu instead love that one no issues years in and also was used

Channel 1 gain control has lots of static
Behringer UFX1204 I order had problems with channel 1 gain control static and the higher the volume the worst it got. Sent it back and had a replacement sent, but the replacement mixer was not new and was missing USB and Firewire cables. So sent it back too. Did a little recording with it and seems to be a good product if you can get a new 1 that actually works.Took 7 days to get credited to my account...had to call Amazon to get credit amount put back on my credit card.. which should be automatic!

It's a good mixer, but it has one design flaw which was unacceptable to me. The volume sliders don't work when recording individual channels over USB/Firewire, with pre or post set with the Send button. They work for the main mix and the aux sends, but not the individual channels themselves. Since there's no full manual, there was no way to know this.Behringer did not respond to my queries about it, nor did anyone give me help on the forums, so I had no choice but to send it back.On the plus side, if you don't need that functionality, it's very good. I love the fact that you don't need drivers for it. The volume sliders do have a flimsy feel to them.

Amazing Little Mixer with One big Hitch!
THE GOOD: Great looking mixer with lots of features. Can't beat it for the money! Well built with good feedback from all the controls 'cepting one (see below). It even has a 16 track recorder built in. However, there's no hard drive - you either insert a USB flash drive (for 44.1K) or plug in a fast USB hard drive (for 48K). A tiny "mouse remote" sized flash drive is perfect if you 're OK with 44.1K.THE BAD: Headphone volume pot is scratchy and won't zero out when all the way down. Audio drivers work intermittently in Windows 10 with latest drivers and firmware. Unit has to be on before booting up the computer and even them sometimes WIndows won't load them completely. The mixer will show up in the Sound settings window but will not always be available for selection. This is shown by it having no meters. When I see no meters I have to either run Update Driver or uninstall and reinstall the drivers manually. Other strange USB behaviors happen from time to time. The unit can get very warm after a while. Like all standard mixers, the headphone jacks are up near the top instead of down in front where the HP cord would avoid being draped over the mixer.

Nice product
Item has been delivered in excellent condition.Mixer works like a charm. Behringer did a good job packing this many features for a decent price, though having more detailed user manual would be quite handy.I did try most of the features including multi-track recording (through USB port only yet). Product meets my expectations. Thanks Behringer for a great product, and Thanks Amazon for delivering it.

I bought this mixer as a cheap backup but it's far better than my m-audio nrv which was twice the price ...
MOST UNDERATED MIXER ON THE MARKET!!!!! Even the manufacturers understate their own product, it's not a 16x4 it's a true 16x16!!! I plug straight into my G5 Mac and run it on logic 8, no drivers were needed and no setup required just select ufx1204 in preferences. I bought this mixer as a cheap backup but it's far better than my m-audio nrv which was twice the price and has half the features. Buy this mixer, seriously, it's incredible and only £350!!
