This work table replaces the one my husband bought and has used for at 45 years
Well worth the cost?

Built like a Tank
After years of homebrew stands and cheap "universal" tool tables, I decided to try a purpose-made portable rig for my router table, mitre saw and the cheap table saw I use for utility work around the house. This is probably the best addition to my workshop in years. It's a heavy duty beast that, with the simplest of mods, can probably accommodate any table-mounted power tool in my inventory. The build quality is very good, it's easy to set up and adjust and it folds up compact to store away.My order arrived with a damaged extension arm due to the poor way that Amazon packaged it for shipment (loose in an oversized box with no padding to cushion the original carton). After contacting the company about the damage, they sent me a replacement extension arm and an extra roller within 3 days so I didn't have to send the entire unit back to Amazon for replacement - that's some amazing customer service and product support! I can't say enough about the product and the extra mile that Powertec went to satisfy a first time buyer - I'll definitely be using this for years to come and they've earned my respect for being so customer-focused.

The best of its class!
There are many such portable workbenches of the same general design floating about, all inspired by the original Black & Decker 125 Workmate. The differences between them come down to the materials used for the top and some minor component differences. However, this one by Powertec is by far the best from what I've seen. It's a bamboo top - an excellent choice, and vastly superior to for example the Harbor Freight version which is made from MDF (and a buck cheaper). Also, this one has a ruler and an angle compass nicely printed on one board - I actually checked the accuracy and it looked OK - not that anyone should necessarily rely on this for critically precise meaurements. The assembly instructions are stellar. Very clear. Note, you have to put on the rubber feet correctly for stability - look at the provided drawing, it's easy to put them on wrong. It's also helpful to look at the photo of the assembled unit on Amazon. If you assemble it correctly, in my experience it is very stable. Yes, the metal they used for the frame is as thin as it can get, but because the whole design is structually sound, it doesn't matter much.I took off one star, because I can't get it to fold very flat, the top is at a slight angle, making it much wider than it should be when folded.Overall, so far it seems very nice, it remains to be seen how durable it is.

Wonderful product
I bought this for my husband for Christmas this past year and he loved it. He put the work horse together and it is wonderfully made and like i said he loved it.

Quality control issues...
This workbench is better than the cheapest B&D version HOWEVER...On the one I received there was major quality control issues. The 4 bracket piece that screw into the wood could not be screwed into the wood as ALL 4 were bent either too wide or too narrow so they could never align to the holes. I had to take them off and bend them in a vice to get them squared off. You cannot assemble this otherwise.I suggest that if you buy this immediately check to see if the bracket holes line up. If they don't you will need a good vice to bent them, If you don't have a vice or don't want to bother, send it back.I got mine squared away and assembled and it works good for me, but I shouldn't have to have done what should have been done at the factory...

Awesome portable workbench. Should have done this year's ago!
The table is sturdy, but as a result is a bit heavy to carry van to Job and back. IT folds down well, but the legs must be fully retracted to do so. The outriggers are an excellent idea, and work extremely well with my portable chop saw. Although there are mounting bolts included to secure tools to the bench, I find just pins to prevent movement work better. Less to remove at the end of the job/change to different tool. Fits well in my van with my other tool load when not in use.

This item sucks
Do not buy this item. Did not even come with screws. Or bolts to assemble

Outstanding bench for small projects
I brought it to help me with some small wood work projects and it was perfect for all my projects. Not only did I used it, but a friend use it for a work bench project in his garage. He liked it so much he brought two. One for him and one for his son in-law. It is a very stable table for holding materials for sawing and drilling. It is easy to store in a small area. Does not take a lot of space. I have enjoy its use and have other projects pending. Where I will get more use of this portable workbench.
