Nice unit, 40 litre capacity is ample for us. Very good value and arrived quickly. Hand holds on both ends for carrying and has an extending locking handle for pulling along on the wheels. Just used it for 2 weeks as a freezer in a holiday lodge. Don't overfill because it doesn't reach -20 near the top. Kept all of our meat, veg and chips frozen solid. I only had it on in the car when the engine was running. Mains power supply ran cool. Floor in the lodge was wet after the two weeks so I would suggest putting a towel beneath when using as a freezer. Really pleased with this freezer - no shopping trips during holidays now.

I recently purchased the 40L version as I was marshalling at a motorsports event for the weekend and I have to say it performed faultlessly. As a refrigeration engineer of 50 years I wanted to test this unit a week before it was going to be pressed into service and for those who like the Stats here they are... With an outside ambient temp of 22deg Cit took ten minutes to drop from 20 to 10 C and then a further five minutes to reach zero. I reset it to -10C. Within five minutes it hit -10C. It took a further fifteen minutes to reach -20C. The system works on a two deg differential. In other words it will cut out at the set temperature then as the temp slowly rises it will start again with the temp two degrees warmer. I checked the noise levels of the unit in my workshop and my meter recorded 27dB with the unit working and 17dB with the unit off. This will be classified as a whisper. If you are in the same room at night with this unit you may well hear it start and stop, but this depends on your hearing. General frost buildup was good and in common with most chillers/freezers it starts at the top of the unit. With this I was well pleased with the performance, but remember it WILL take longer in a warmer ambient! I put a saucer of water in the base and I needed to set the thermostat to -5C in order for it too freeze the water. Keeping it at this temperature will make everything very cold!! The unit was quite light to carry, but remember when you fill it you may need to be careful. The wheels were excellent and the carrying handle will lock into position and you just need to press to button on top of the handle to compress the handle itself. It has a drain plug in the bottom but I just used a few paper kitchen towels to wipe it dry as there really wasn't much water. When I plugged it into the van it worked perfectly well but you will need to read the instructions as the unit has three power supply settings as it is set up not to drain the vehicles battery, another thoughtful addition. Basically I was delighted with this unit. If you have a question just ask me!!

This is the first time I can let items freeze on a camping trip, I can set the temperature and even battery level protection so that my battery doesn't go flat . It's not noisy when in use , if you want something that really works then this product is for you

A brilliant piece of kit but be aware once preloaded it is very heavy to put into the boot and you may have to remove the shelf due to its height, for us this was good compromise as the fridge size allows you to stand 2 ltr bottles vertically.

This actually did a decent job for the first year. Apart from the lid that fits into the hinge. That wore out after 6 months. Then a little after 12 months the screen and its buttons were totally unresponsive. Wasn’t too much of an issue as I still had Bluetooth control. The App then decided it wanted to re-pair to the fridge. I now could not turn the fridge to cool. Even though there was power to the fridge proven. This was then game over. I contacted Alpicool. They were quick to ask when I bought it and who from. I had a feeling 18 months was outside warranty but I was after customer support on either a fix, spare parts or a repair. Well as soon as they saw I bought it from Amazon, they never responded to my next 4 emails. I’m an electrical engineer. I could easily fix this with the right parts. But they don’t look the same on Ali Baba and at £50. It needs to be correct. My one star is mainly for the blatant disregard of this company to respond to any emails after the original email which was possibly a Bot. Alpicool Operating shadily from China. Your money will only go into their pockets and you’ll get no customer service back. Not even any help at all AVOID! One of the only bad reviews I’ve ever given. I have just bought the Euhomy 50L to replace this.

bought this for a weeks car-based camping trip, using a tent, but with electric hookup. Wanted a proper compressor fridge to both get, and keep, food and drink cold. In short, this does just what it says on the tin. Plus points: - its really quiet. During the pre-trip test, in a quiet lounge, the compressor is just audible, but once on a campsite it is drowned out by general tent/fabric noises - we were sleeping less than 2m away, and could not hear it. - it gets properly cold. It will certainly freeze water, (overnight it froze a yoghurt by accident), even tho temp setting at -6. minus points (and these are trivial) - the 'cold' portion of the interior is the lower part of the side, so the temp in the fridge is not consistent. In practice not an issue, but be wary of packing things like fruit at the sides/bottom, as it may freeze. - there is only one temp setting for the whole cooler - so you cant do fridge AND freeze at the same time. Just hope it lasts.
