Vanders Renal Physiology, Ninth Edition

I recommend this book to medical students and my own beginning graduate students. This edition is written by two distinguished scientists who have made many important contributions to the original literature that I have followed for many decades, but if this text is an indication they are also master teachers. Throughout tey are able to explain the most difficult concepts in ways that facilitate understanding and it has transformed the way I teach several aspects of renal physiology. They don't clutter the chapters with minutia (in marked contrast to some competing textbooks). The diagrams are unusually well designed for facilitating learning.

Excellent book. Updated to include changes in the knowledge base without increasing the size of the book. Essential for any medical student who even remotely aspires to understanding renal function. Good reference for clinicians for keeping up with changes in understanding of basic renal physiology - much of which they have probably forgotten ;-)

Great book, makes reading physiology thoroughly enjoyable
