I got this for my girlfriends fish tank. There are custom modes and adjustments that can be made but all I had to do was set the time and put it to auto mode for the light to automatically simulate the light color and intensity through the 24 hour period. it simulates sunrise and sunset which I like. Its only been a couple week but the live plants seem to be doing well in the 24inch deep tank. I am pretty happy with this as its a large leap forward from the on off timer of my old light.

My fish is 16 years old and tank lighting has really changed over the last few decades. I was completely unaware how much more efficient, low profile and light variations are possible now. "YourMom" is living her best life in her golden years now thanks to good lighting.

•This light runs super hot at its peak.•The shell is very thin with no fin structures or texture to improve rigidity, or heat dissipation.•NOT GLASS but plastic covering the actual LED board.•What protection there is from water comes from the entire LED board being encased in epoxy or some kind of laminate sleeve. Not from a seal between the "glass" and the aluminum shell.•The 24/7 cycle is ROUGH, not nearly as esthetically pleasing as I would like.It has a coarse transition for the ramp up to full and then just kind of hangs out in the solid blue phase for a seemingly long time with the falling off phase.●●Recommend with reservations for taller tanks with primarily short plants.I will say the light was packaged exceptionally well using a very professional and attractive box.The controller is not terrible albeit a tad large, but it is lighter than some and the length of wire between the light and the adapter connector is longer than the average I have encountered in the hobby making it easier to mount in an accessible area.

Retired A “Popular Brand” Lightbar In Favor Of This. Tough, Durable, Attractive. Haven’t messed with programming yet because the built in 24hr program works great.

I've been using dual name brand lights and one of them stopped working, so I replaced it with this. The side by side comparison is interesting. This light is crisper, has more programable functions and on full brightness (which I don't use) is brighter and it was 60% cheaper.Just a word of warning, if you do run this at full brightness, it gets pretty hot, which was surprising for LED. I think its safe, but I don't run my lights at full brightness anyway, since that creates too much algae growth in my tanks.All in all a good value light, easy to set-up and program. Hoping it lasts for a long time.
