Defective.
Came defective and not working properly. The flash base contacts were shorting with the movable spring clip. I pulled out the spring clip and bent it away from shorting with contacts. Still can happen though at any time.

Ok butt stiff Cable!
Cable seems to function well. Just testes it once when received. Only negative is that the spiraled section of the Cable seems stiff. Maybe it is better after some use.

Great for Nikon or Leica
I use this with a Leica M10 and it works great. The pins for Leica and Nikon are in the same spots. I had to rig it with a twisty tie to get the wire to point off to the side rather than forward, so that it doesn’t fall in front of the lens. That was easy to do. It takes a little stretching to loosen up the coil to make it stretch more easily, but it does loosen up nicely.

Very handy, but I don't usually use it as intended
These are made for allowing a speedlite flash to be held off camera, yet still controlled from camera hot shoe. Although I have used them this way, my most often use is to let me remove my flash control transmitter from the camera when the camera is on a tall tripod and attach the transmitter lower, on one of the tripod legs with a magic clamp and arm, so that I can see the flash transmitter screen and more easily make flash adjustments from this transmitter. So this isn't what this cable was intended for, but it has worked fine for me. I had been tipping the tall tripod over to make adjustments before this.

super helpful tool for camera bag!
i’m a wedding photographer and i wanted a corded way to keep my flash off camera. i have wireless triggers but this is so much easier to just attach and go when you’re in a hurry. affordable and compact, i highly recommend for a busy flash-using photographer.
