Ideal for use with windlasses, this double braided nylon rope is professionally spliced to a generous amount of HT G4 chain. By purchasing a pre-spliced rope and chain package, you save the extra expense, time, and effort of custom splicing the rope and chain separately. Each windlass is equipped with a gypsy that fits a particular size of rope and chain. As well, each windlass will fit BBB Chain, HT Chain, or both. To determine your required chain and rope size, refer to your windlass manual. HT chain may also be referred to as G4 Chain, G43, ACCO HT Chain, or High Test chain, all of which are interchangeable. Remember to always confirm rope and chain size against your windlass manual as gypsies vary. Note: This rode is not compatible with the following windlasses: Lewmar 700 series Maxwell Freedom series New braided rope should be soaked in water (salt or fresh ok) to condition the rope so it can be used in the windlass initially. When the rope is used dry and new, slippage or sticking in the gypsy can occur. Once wet and used, braided rope generally performs better than 3-strand. This product is garbage
Of course I ordered this over the winter and finished installing it this spring, so it is out of the return window. The rope does not work with Five Oceans Pacific 900 Vertical Anchor Windlass.The splice is very large and actually bent the finger post and spring. Now I get to throw this in the trash, repair the damage it did to my windlass, and find another solution.Cost me much more than $140 paid for this piece of junk.

Best spliced windlass rode I've used
I've used several different rodes on my windlass and this has been my favorite so far. it holds up great to rubbing and the splice passes through the windlass flawlessly. 3 strand and 8 strand ropes always seem to come with a splice knot that causes issues passing and results in having to money with it back and forth which can be problematic on a heavy drift with 15' of chain and anchor dangling under your boat. This braided rope is perfect. My only wish is that they offered a 300' version

Wont fit Lewmar 700
The product is of high quality however the splice will not work with my Lewmar 700 therefore it has zero vale for me. We'll follow up on how their customer service reacts.

Line size is incorrect.
Measures 3/8" with calipers. Not close to 1/2 inch line. Will not work with a 1/2" windlass. Also their return policy is crap. They literally suggest to try craigslist to sell it instead of returning it in their instructions.

Almost perfect
Only issue I'm having is when the line gets "slack" (the anchor is no longer creating tension on the line) then it gets hung up at the point where rope & chain meet (windlass won't go beyond that point without help) but it's MILES above the original rope & chain I had before.

splice issue
Bought this for my new windlass and it worked ok for a while over the summer but after a couple months the splice seemed to get stiff and would not feed through the windlass and now I have to manually feed the splice through to finish hauling in the anchor. other then the splice the rode works fine with my Anchorlift windlass.

Very nice rig for anchoring.
Ok, truth is that this has not gotten wet yet, but the shippper seems anxious for a review. When attaching this to the anchor I can already tell that it is an upgrade from what I have used for the past few years. Soft braided rope is easy to handle and the chain is nicely heavy. I look forward to secure anchoring all summer.

Great anchor line
Very well packaged, shipped quickly and a great rope. The spliced loop to connect the anchor works well in the windlass, but the windlass does chew up the line a bit. I Lengthened the chain for more every day use and use the line extension when needed.
