Great Shady Area Grass Seed
Finally have gotten some grass to grow in a shady area. While the grass is not lush yet, it at least has started to grow. Shady areas are always a challenge.

Not turf grass, but germinates well and is green.
Im in GA… red clay dirt. had to buy some cow manure (blackow) and spread that before seeding. About two weeks most had sprouted. Thin soft blades ,,, maybe they get thicker/ stronger over time? We’ll see.

Worth My Effort
I am so happy about the results of this seed mixture! It began germinating in 2 weeks, just as it said. The first pic is before I got results.I am now at week 3, and it continues to grow and spread. Some areas grew before others. Slow, but sure. The water was key.The green color is so rich and vibrant! The quality of the blades is definitely better than my existing grass. I failed to put the accompanying fertilizer down, because I did not see this recommendation until after I received the shipment and read the instructions. I will do that when I seed again in the fall.I did this myself. Because it is still fairly cool, I chanced doing this in mid to late May. I checked the10-day forecast first.I tilled the ground specifically in spots where the grass was gone completely, and just lightly mixed it in with other saturated areas. I used my hand to throw the seeds down versus my seeding barrow in order to better concentrate on the bare spots. I watered it no less than every other day until the rains conveniently came. I tried to time it that way.I was so excited when I saw grass peeping!I have a corner that is very shady in the front due to lots of trees. Had bare spots for along time until I decided to take charge of my embarrassing yard. This is working perfectly! I look forward to seeing it in 6 weeks! Cutting it soon. As you have to wait a bit. It will need another pass to get the density I ultimately want.Definitely buying this again!

Followed directions and still have no grass
Have high shade area under large tree. Waited until late Oct in TX to plant and covered with shallow layer of soil. Temps good, watered well. Grass started to grow, appeared to be getting thicker, then died off. Tried to over seed again, and still looking at dirt.

A little better than expected
I did a LOT of research before choosing a full shade seed. This was 1 of 3 seeds I narrowed it to and it was the best value for the sized area I needed to start a new lawn. So far, this is working as good as I could have hoped for.Quick to germinate and seems to be getting well established in a full shade area even more quickly than expected. However, I wont know till next spring if it really took root really well and thrives.I will update if there is a problem.

Amazing
Worked as described. I have a lot of shade and my grass died because of low sunlight. Have St. Augustine grass and after a while just became barren dirt under the shade. This grass grew in about 2 weeks. Rich dark green. (Watered 4 times a day for germinating) considering redoing whole lawn to this. Have not cut grass yet and will need to reseed for bare spots. I did not have proper tools and wanted to see if it would work so I only had a pick axe to dig up the dirt and hand throw the seeds. (A lot of hard work) I highly recommend this seed.

Defective and unreturnable product!
BEWARE!THIS PRODUCT DID NOT GERMINATE FROM THE FALL OVERSEEDING AND YET AGAIN after I overseeded in March. I bought 3 bags for the dense shade and 2 for the sunny lawn. Neither germinated.Amazon refused to refund for this defective item after only 3 weeks. Amazon requested to RETURN the seeds for a refund! PLANTED seeds!?
