If you have any kind of media setup beyond a smart TV, the Sofabaton U2 is a must-have. It's great if you use a PC or laptop for media streaming as those devices typically don't use HDMI CEC, meaning your TV remote won't be able to control them. But the Sofabaton U2 connects just like any bluetooth keyboard, so you can control streaming websites and even some games like the Jackbox Party Pack with it!I was already a fan of the U1, and this second revision fixes my biggest gripe with the original (the frankly bizarre battery cover) as well as adding great QoL features like backlit buttons and a longer IR range (according to the product description, I've personally never had any issues with the U1 in my house). The remote also feels more premium to me, especially the button clickiness, although that could just be because my old U1 has had a lot of use.If you already own the U1, it's a hard sell unless you were already going to buy another for a different room or something. But for someone who doesn't have a U1, I'd say it's well worth the extra money for the more convenient battery cover and the backlight

A very simple and easy to set up universal remote control. Having used the Harmony remotes im previous years which are now discontinued a web search found the sofabaton which met my needs and very quick delivery from Amazon and up and running in no time, easy to switch between the virginmedia box and TV and soundbar and backlighting is must have feature. Very easy to tweek specific buttons to set it up how you want it to operate.

The build quality of the remote is good, but the functionality is awful, I have used One for all remotes which learn the IR and work as good as the original remote. This thing works only when it feels like it.

Sadly, the remote doesn't support hybrid remotes, such as the new Sky Stream Puck, which mixes both bluetooth and IR buttons. Like many, I was trying to find a solution to the awful Sky remote, so I'm quite disappointed that this did not work for me. In support, the remote did seem like good quality.

With so many modern TVs coming with pretty awful remotes, this not only improves on those remotes, but gives you the convenience of packing them all into one! Obviously universal remotes have been around for years, but this is a much nicer, more modern take on them.Having the buttons backlit is fantastic when you're using it in the dark, likely during a movie etc, ditching the need for tilting the remote towards the screen to actually be able to see the buttons. The app functionality is amazing as well, making it much easier to manage devices stored on the remote straight from your phone instead of needing to use the remote itself.Although I've tested the IR learning functionality (which worked perfectly), it's really not needed if you use the app, since you can just search for the specific brand and model you're trying to control, no complicated setup needed!

Works flawlessly with our LG and Samsung TV. Though very expensive for what it really is.

This remote is pretty well built and the buttons feel nice to use. There is a little OLED screen at the top which displays your devices and a little scroll wheel to scroll between them. It's a nice and clear screen with a backlight.It comes with batteries but these are Chinese branded and I didn't recognise the make so I didn't use those and used my own, it takes 2xAA batteries. The remote also has backlights in the buttons, which is nice.Once unpacked you follow the qr code in the manual and download the Sofabaton app. Once you have an account you pair your remote and off you go. You can search the database of devices, though it's not the most extensive or you can choose an IR or Bluetooth remote and use the learn function from the original remote. The learn function is really easy to use, just set the button in the app and point the original at the Sofabaton and it remembers it. Once done you can save the device with a name and icon, I would have liked more icons though. I have paired a speaker, light, fan and webcam remotes to it and it has really decluttered my home office.It's a really good and easy to use remote, it's simple and nothing is fancy but definately gets the job done. I think this remote also offers great valueat £71.99 with a 5% voucher on top as of February 2025.
