I've spent just a couple of hours so far, but it's been a very enjoyable experience. I'm finding that there's a good learning curve and don't expect to sound like your favorite artist instantly. The ability to play music without any experience is very tempting but remember this instrument allows for chord progressions and not single notes so if your idea is to start shredding forget it! If playing and singing is your thing without tons of music lessons that this might work out.The sound on this instrument is very clear and I was surprised by how many different sounds could be had. Electric guitar in both regular and overdrive plus piano and others. The volume and sound are excellent and I'm just using the built in speakers, but I would imagine with an amplifier and even possibly a sound effects pedal the range could be amazing. Finally, it was delivered 4 days early and yes, I did download the app. I'm still exploring the app but so far, it's been very easy to navigate and hoping in the future to have more fun just learning and playing tunes. Overall, it's a good product just read and watch as many videos as possible, so you understand what you are getting before pulling the trigger on this one.

It's the most fun I've had in decades. My left hand is a mess due to injury and arthritis. My left arm was broken in 38 places and nearly amputated as a result. But even with these disabilities, I can play sweet, sweet music (for a good while before it gets painful, but it isn't due to the Genie). I got it on the back-to-school sale, and it has to be one of the strongest recommendations I can give. It's just an awesome product.

LAVA is a great invention, whether you're a true musician or novice. App is great and necessary; it downloaded just fine. The tutorials on the app are well designed and easy to follow. There are also YouTube videos from LAVA that are helpful to see the instruments range of functions and capabilities. Lava performs all the sounds of guitar, base, piano, &drums. Lyrics with the songs to sing along using the app too. Like any instrument, the more you practice the better you'll get. I was amazed in just minutes I was enjoying playing a couple of popular songs using the preset modes available. You don't need to know how to play guitar or read music to use. I really look forward to learning the more customized and free hand modes of playing as well. LAVA is lots of fun for kids and adults. I highly recommend! 👍🏻👍🏻

Excellent customer service. I had a problem with the first instrument. I was contacted almost immediately after I texted the seller. They were more than helpful and very courteous. I had complained that this instrument is not easy to learn unless you purchase the lava Plus subscription. They were kind enough to give me a free 3-year subscription. Once I got that I was able to learn several songs very quickly. It's a lot of fun to sit there and play. It has so many different sounds and chord progressions. It's also a lot of fun just to sing along with the music and be able to play the chords with it. I love the compactness of it and it is very light. I can sing a little bit but I have no guitar knowledge. But with this guitar you don't need itIt shows you every note to play along with the lyrics. I'm not saying that this guitar will teach you how to play a real guitar. But it may lead you to learn to play a real one and will be very helpful in the process. I highly recommend this lava genie for anyone that wants to how to sing and play. A big shout out to Ken Song and his management team for all their help.

The media could not be loaded. This product has truly exceeded my expectations. My daughter is absolutely captivated by it and can't bear to put it down. Its playability is exceptional; even a 5-year-old can easily strum and sing along. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone on the fence about purchasing. In fact, I'd say this product is far more impressive in reality than it appears in the product description. It's incredibly user-friendly. The app offers a diverse selection of popular songs suitable for all ages. My daughter is particularly enamored with "Baby Shark"! Moreover, the sound quality is outstanding, surpassing all my initial expectations.Upon reflection, I realize that this product allows individuals with no guitar background to experience the joy of playing and singing. While it may spark some debate for bypassing the more challenging aspects of traditional guitar learning, I say, so what? Right now, my 5-year-old daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying making music together. If this product can ignite her passion for music and foster a deep interest, then that's its true value. Two thumbs up! I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Lava Company. I believe that all businesses should embody this kind of innovative and user-focused development spirit.

We are a trio of singers travelling to local nursing homes and providing musical entertainment. We use the Lava Genie as our musical accompaniment with great success. We do everything from ballads, pop, boogie woogie and whatever else. Our song are pulled from the time period when 80 year old have grown up.Because of how we use the Genie, we require sophisticated combinations of the Genie application capabilities. Doing this required intensive study and trial and error to figure out everything we could do. It would be good for Lava if they could produce a sophisticated "how to" set of documents.This is a great buy and the customer service is excellent. Go for it!PS: Due to questions from our audience we put together an introductory funny song describing the unit. It is patterned after Chuck Berry's "My Ding-A-Ling" song. And we indeed call it a dingaling.
