DEWALT Transit Level, Surveying Tool with Tripod and Rod, 20X Magnification (DW090PK)

Bought this initially to create a nice level reference line on my house while replacing my vinyl siding. Worked great for that application. Have since used to to level out a space for a playhouse, and swimming pool. Works great for the money.

PROS: Works as expected. Great quality. NOT A LASER and NOT SELF-LEVELING so don't buy it expecting one or both of those features. You WILL have to pay more for a quality level with those features. The case for the level unit is very protective, but, unfortunately, plastic. We'll see how well its photo-sensitivity stands up to long, sunny days on-site. CONS: My ONLY complaint is that it needs a carrying bag to accommodate the level, AND the stand and grade rod. It is definitely a pain carrying three separate items, to do one job, when you can't park close to the set-up location. And if you need to carry your clipboard and/or plans, then it all gets really cumbersome.

Perfect tool for the price. Basic, simple, and accurate. Did a few foundations, shot elevations for drainage in my yard, also set our above ground pool perfectly level. If you need something simple. This will get the job done.

This builders level is perfect for the home owner DIYer. I've used this tool ten times in a month and have not been disappointed not even once. The level itself is made of what I believe is aluminum NOT plastic and is very heavy duty. The tripod is also aluminum with some plastic and probably a little cheap but I don't plan on using it to jack up my car. The grade rod is aluminum and a little cheap but there again I have no plans to abuse it. I was Leary of even spending over $200 on a level but I'm glad I did, it takes all the guess work out of my projects. I've used it for a fence, concrete forms, a shop floor, and also soon a deck. Leveling this unit is really easy and could be done by a trained monkey just take the five minutes and read the directions. I'm going to buy a interior laser level now, since I have the tripod. Bottom line......................BUY IT!

Super easy to use. I set this up and could see in the lady down the street bedroom window like I was standing right outside of it. Ha ha just joking but this is seriously a good level.

Have owned this kit for three months. I use it mainly for constructing farm fences, horse round yards and arenas. Does. A great job accurate and easy to use. The only drawback about the model supplied is that the measuring staff is in imperial measurements, whereas here in Australia we live and breathe metric. Minor thing really as the imperial measurements are buried deep in my head somewhere. Overall a great product for the price - $130 AU or approx $180 US.

Works great, easy to use and very well built. The new technology is a spinning laser but I like this unit. No batteries to worry about when it sits in my -40 truck. Plus it can and does sit for extended periods and works every time.

The opticsl level ever!!!!. First of sll the staff in feet and we do not use feet here, we use centimeter. The machine is super difficult to adjust. In general do not buy even with 1 aed.
