Mobsters are smuggling guns into Hong Kong. The police orchestrate a raid at a teahouse where an ace detective loses his partner. Meanwhile, the two main gun smugglers are having a war over territory, and a young new gun is enlisted to wipe out informants and overcome barriers to growth. The detective, acting from inside sources, gets closer to the ring leaders and eventually must work with the inside man directly. Not sure it’s a factory copy of the film.

Great film on bluray
One of the best John Woo films with plently of action and emotional scenes. The bluray provides a slight step-up in picture quality compared to the DVD.

I don’t know if there’s just a problem with my disc or this is just a really bad bootleg transfer but this is unwatchable. The playback is all wonky so that basically every second it backtracks a few frames then continues playing. I’ve tried the disc on 3 different players all with the same results. The menus work fine, it’s only the movie that plays like this. This was one of my favorite movies and I haven’t been able to find a good copy of it since I had it on VHS in the 90s. I was so excited to get to see it again in high def and was gutted as soon as I started it.
