Multipurpose lantern—excellent for kids!
Awesome lantern. The projections are fun and it also works well as a regular lantern my 6yo loves it.

Not strong enough
Transaction was great! As described and delivered perfectly. But…. It’s not an ideal toy, it doesn’t have a great projector and isn’t strong enough to go on a wall clearly. More like a flashlight.

Fun gift for your adventure loving kids
This was a Christmas gift for my grandson. He loves to explore and is very imaginative. This toy helps him use his imagination to explore the house and make up fun stories about being an adventurer in the jungle. It works great as a nightlight as well. The light is strong, and the projector works great, projecting clear images on his ceiling or walls. Easy to carry, and durable for little hands. My grandson is 5, and this was one of his favorite gifts this Christmas.

Too small
This wasn't that big. That is why I gave it a four star.

Good Design but not great.
Projection is not as clear as I thought and hope the projection size can be bigger.

Small Product Big Price Tag!
It's nice, but the Blue Marble National Geographic Kids Lantern & Image Projector is smaller than expected for the price tag. My 4 year old (pre-k) is a little more advanced, so unfortunately, we went with another product. Love Nat Geo, though!

A Massive Hit!
There is a five-year-old in my extended family who is obsessed with space. She fell in love with this right away. She is able to operate it completely on her own, and she loves comparing the images to the guide. The images are engaging and really do spark curiosity. I thought they would get old quickly, but she keeps going back to them. It seems to be sturdy enough to undergo a licking and keep on ticking, but that hasn't been an issue so far anyway. It could definitely be carried outside and endure getting bumped around and dirtied up on a camping trip or a night in the backyard. The battery compartment can only be opened with a screwdriver, which is a bit of a pain, but also makes it safe for use around younger children.

Fun idea with limited durability and functionality, better suited for casual playtime
The National Geographic Kids Lantern & Image Projector is a compact and lightweight toy, ideal for young explorers. The lantern, made of hard plastic, is small enough to be easily portable, with a carrying handle that makes it suitable for camping trips or as a bedroom nightlight. It features a single LED bulb that emits a soft glow, providing a cozy atmosphere without becoming hot to the touch. The image projection feature includes 24 slides of dinosaurs, space scenes, and animals, offering fun and educational visuals for kids to explore. However, the product has several shortcomings. The hard plastic construction scuffs easily, and the carrying handle feels a bit rigid, which may reduce its durability over time. While the projected images are visually appealing, they are small and can be challenging to focus clearly, detracting from their potential as an engaging educational tool. The lantern’s brightness is limited, and the lack of a rechargeable battery means you’ll need to frequently replace the 3 AAA batteries it requires. A built-in rechargeable option would have been a welcome improvement. This is a great concept for encouraging learning and imagination, but the execution leaves room for improvement. It works best as a novelty or occasional use item rather than a practical or durable lantern for everyday use.
