i have a condition called bruxism, which is where you grind your teeth involuntarily, often during sleep. i do it doing the day due to anxiety, and it's really hard to catch myself every time i start, because it's like a natural self-soothing mechanism. gum can help during the day, but not at night. These have great design to them where they are thick enough to bite down with a lot of force without causing any damage to your teeth. there is some instructions you have to follow closely to make sure it conforms to your teeth correctly, that part is a little tricky, i've messed up a few because i did it slightly wrong. the idea is to boil water, let the water cool to between 160°F-180°F. so if you don't have a thermometer, you kinda just have to guess. then you put the unused mouthgard in the very hot water for between 10-20 seconds, but you have to watch it very carefully because you have to pull it out of the water at the right time or it will melt too much and make it unusable. so you pull it out with a spoon, wet your fingers with some cool water so they don't stick, and put the guard in your mouth. you want to bite down consistently but not too strong. you're also supposed to suck all The air from your mouth and massage the outside of your cheeks while you are biting down and sucking in. You do this for about two or three minutes, then you put the mouth guard in the cold water for a few seconds. And then it's done. The crucial part is really taking mouth guard out of the hot water at the correct time. So a thermometer would be incredibly helpful in this instance. other than that, if you don't mess it up and you are able to get it to work correctly, it works great, it stays in place very well, You are able to talk clearly enough even while you have it in. So you can't potentially use these during the day as well you can reuse them for awhile, you can wash them, But at some point they will start looking a little less clear and you'll probably just want to make a new one. I recommend rinsing it off and rinsing your mouth out throughout the day. Especially after eating, If you're not able to floss your teeth then you're going to want rinse your mouth out really good and chew some gum before putting the guard back in. and then using soap and water to clean it with a sponge. I'm not sure if you can run it through the dishwasher because if it gets hot again the plastic will melt. So just follow the instructions that is included. The last one I bought gave me a url for a particular YouTube video that explains exactly how to make these mouth guards correctly, And having someone show you how to do it and explain it to you is a huge help.

The mouth guard could help someone to keep grinding teeth at nighttime. It could be moldability and durability around the teeth in the mouth. It could be a good size and fit for any kind of mouth. It works perfectly. Highly Recommend.

Dont waste your money, agree with previous reviews - I have used several including $500 one my dds made. These simple have TOO much “plastic” -bulk!!! Not at allll as pictured. Those do exist - these aren’t. If there was a way to cut it, you could get 2 maybe 3!! out of one there’s so much goo. Even the smaller ones don’t fit properly. I have an average size female mouth with NO issues, straight teeth, I simply clench. Spend a little extra and get the guards that come with a tray. It helps keep form after melting and prevents the other half of your mouth / teeth from making impressions. of course I’m not returnable but that doesn’t stop me from disputing the charges with my credit card company. Amazon needs to stop spelling garbage that is misrepresented and be held accountable!!!!!!

I accidentally let it stay in the hot water for a minute and the whole guard deformed majorly. But after some quick molding with my fingers in my mouth, kind of got it to work. So it's easy to mold and it fit probably as good as the one I got from dentist office. It just has a very thick front and back panel which can affect the comfort level a bit. Took me awhile to get used to it enough to get some sleep. I think it worked pretty well to keep me from grinding my teeth while I slept.
