Do your own research on UVC / Ozone devices. They have, in my opinion, greatly exaggerated the potential benefits whilst minimising the high risk to health (not to mention the odious, pervasive smell) of the ozone gas generated.

This is a large halogen style bulb with an E27 screw-style fitting. It says not to look at it but people, pets, plants should not be in the room when it is turned on. Also, the room should be ventilated for 1 hour after to air out the ozone. So we have this plugged into a lamp and then use an extension cord to plug into a socket outside the room. This way you can switch it on and off without ever being in the room while it's working. Not sure whether it needs to shine directly on a surface to work. It says it covers 55sqm. Better information would be helpful on how to use it most effectively. I've no way to test whether it's killing germs, dust mites, etc. But get an added sense of security using this. Particularly in the kitchen after cleaning surfaces with ordinary dish washing liquid. Much prefer to use this than chemical cleaners. Think we all eat and breathe way too many chemicals these days so this helps reduce the overall toxic load. Says will last 5000 hours. Hope that helps.

Not sure how long it was on for because I wasn't in the room for obvious reasons. But when I returned, it was off and won't turn on again. Disappointed

Un'avvertenza, la lampada emette raggi UV del tipo C che sono dannosi se osservati direttamente. Infatti hanno caratteristiche diverse dal tipo A e B, pur essendo sempre segnali elettromagnetici, così come i raggi X hanno proprietà diverse dalla luce visibile e dall'infrarosso pur differendo solamente per la frequenza o lunghezza d'onda che si voglia dire. Dopo questa premessa, va detto che l'indicazione di utilizzo dice di scegliere la potenza in base all'area della stanza e come tempi dai 30 ai 60 minuti di utilizzo, per poi far arieggiare la stanza per circa un'ora o comunque finché l'odore dell'ozono che si è formato non è scomparso. Infatti non sarebbe salutare respirare periodicamente l'ozono. I raggi UV del tipo C hanno la proprietà di distruggere il DNA di virus e microorganismi e viene utilizzato in ambito sanitario.

J'ai acheté cette lampe pour assainir l'air dans une salle de bain, cave et autre locaux qui sentent le moisi et l'urine de chat même après nettoyage. Le résultat est assez bon même si je n'ai aucun apareil permettant de mesurer l'ozone ni les uv. J'ai suivi les instructions du mode d'emploi (assez petit et en anglais) J'ai allumé la lampe 30 minutes dans la pièce fermée, j'ai ensuite ventilé pendant plus d’une heure car l'odeur d'ozone était très forte! Je constate que les mauvaises odeurs ont complètement disparu et ne reviennent pas pour l'instant. Faites bien attention de ne pas regarder la lumière UVC ni respirer l'ozone, il faut prévoir une ventilation très importante après l'utilisation. Il n'y a pas assez d'avertissement et de pictogramme de danger sur cette lampe et son emballage, mais elle semble efficace!
