A most impressive NAS, well built and feature rich
It's not often that I write 'glowing' reviews, but putting together the UGREEN DXP6800 has been a real treat. I've outfitted the NAS with six 12TB Western Digital Blue drives in a RAID 6 configuration, added two Samsung 990 NVMe SSDs for cache, and expanded the RAM to 16GB. The DXP6800 is really well constructed and more importantly, well thought out. The drive installation is super simple and the access to the SSD and RAM is excellent. One of the nicest things about this product is the comprehensive documentation. Every feature, every setting, every option is outlined in very thorough detail and written by someone who obviously understands the product inside and out, and is also fluent in English. This is the best documentation I've seen on a high-tech product in a long time. The features and performance are also top-notch, with an impressive lineup of additional (and USEFUL) apps that can be installed - and again, with full documentation on each app as well (and a good overview describing what the app is before even installing it). I was able to put the array together, get it configured, stripe the drives, assign the SSD as read/write cache, create user accounts, install SMB to map it as a 'network drive' and DLNA for the media server - and every step just made sense. There wasn't a single time where I was scratching my head, wondering how something was supposed to work ... it just works as it's supposed to. I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Even if you choose not to use the software this is great
Replacing my aging Synology, I wanted something with more powerful and modern hardware options and flexibility. Synology provides solid, reliable systems, but honestly, they are too far behind on their hardware. So I researched and went with the DXP6800 Pro. It has plenty of power with the CPU for my home lab needs, memory expandability, plenty of storage bays, and it runs quiet even at full load. I found the included software easy to use, but limited in certain areas, as it is just not mature yet. However, they are doing a good job of getting there. However, one of the major strengths is that you can easily install TrueNas or Unraid, and it does not void your warrant like some other options. Despite the lack of features on the software, I decided to stay with their included OS. Their Docker and VM solution works well and due to the CPU and expandable memory, they run fast. So for any missing OS option, I run a docker that handles the task. While not the cheapest, I found that for a system that has these features and performance, compared to Qnap, Synology, and Asustor to be a solid price. You can do better if you DIY, but if you are like me and do not have that kind of free time, this is a great option.

Easy to Setup and Install
Works great and easy to set up and install! This NAS replaced an old DROBO 5D system that was showing its age. Coupled with a 10GBE connection and 2.5GBE network plus WIFI 7, I can easily access my files from any device in my home.

Absolutely amazing
This is my second NAS from UGreen. I got the 2800 thru kickstarter but it was too small for my needs to I decided to upgrade. This thing is great. Way more power behind it for all my docker containers and VMs. Being able to have 6 drives now is great and lets me add more drives as I need them. Stays cool, looks great, and seems pretty solid. Plus the NAS app and client software works great. I installed Tailscale for faster remote access. So glad I didn’t try Synology. I’m not locked into some crazy priced drives on this. Huge win!

Solid hardware.
A solid choice with excellent hardware. But I do suggest running Truenas or Unraid instead of UGREEN OS.

Serious Performance NAS for Power Users, Creators, and Small Studios
The UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Pro is an absolute beast of a desktop NAS. If you’re looking for something well beyond basic file storage—this is it. The hardware alone puts it in a class with much more expensive enterprise and prosumer systems. The Intel i5-1235U (10-core) CPU paired with 8GB of DDR5 RAM delivers excellent performance for multitasking. I’m running multiple services at once—file sharing, media server duties, backups, and Docker containers—and it stays fast and responsive. The built-in 128GB SSD for the OS is a great touch and keeps the system feeling snappy right out of the box. Connectivity is where this NAS really shines. Dual 10GbE ports make a huge difference for large file transfers and editing workflows, especially for video. The two M.2 NVMe slots are perfect for cache or ultra-fast storage pools, and the inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 is outstanding—rarely seen on desktop NAS units and incredibly useful for direct-attached high-speed workflows. The 8K HDMI output is a nice bonus for local monitoring or media use, and overall build quality feels solid and well thought out. Drive bays are easy to access, airflow is good, and the system runs quietly considering the power inside. If you’re a content creator, video editor, photographer, or running a small office that needs serious speed and flexibility, the UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Pro is a fantastic investment. It delivers workstation-level performance in a NAS form factor and easily competes with higher-priced alternatives.

Great NAS for the value. Regular updates and great support by the company.
I'm so glad I went with this instead of the Synology NAS. Although they’re new to the NAS industry, the base product is well worth the money. The NAS OS and apps still need a lot of work, but they’ve been releasing monthly updates to fix issues, improve performance, and add functionality. I was able to add an additional SSD slot using a PCIe card and build a storage volume with other SSD drives. While you can easily install other NAS operating systems, their OS is sufficient for most basic users. I have this unit for several months, no issue what so ever.

Best option for NAS
This is a great option. Very fast and easy setup. However there is a learning curve to use and customize. Technical help is good

Why build your own home NAS when you get i5 (mobile cpu still) performance with hardware HV1 transcoding. This is a beast with dual 10 Gbe ethernet. Couple this with a couple NVMe SSDs for Raid 1 cache and the speeds are phenomenal.

This is NOT a real external drive experience. Total nightmare from the start. Took 3 days just to format the drives, and another 3 days struggling with the RAID setup. The software is painfully slow, glitchy, and completely useless. Zero customer support – no phone number, no live chat, no proper help at all. If you're not super tech-savvy, forget it. UGREEN completely failed with this product. Returning it was the best part of the whole process. Don’t waste your money or time.thunderbolt totaly use less not show in mac
