Excellent!
I am quite impressed by this book. It is the third one I have read since the two years I have had my concussion and the best. It is large print and divided into easy to read sections in case you have a problem with reading because of your concussion. I have also had vision therapy and went to see a chiropractic neurologist for a full workup. Both of those things helped but I was still stalled with vision issues, headaches,nausea, stomach problems, anxiety, heart racing, shallow breathing, sudden panic, circadian rhythm issues, sleep disturbances and issues with my cognitive abilities.The first part of the book presents background research and information and the second part is about the six week plan. Since I have a hard time reading I just started with the plan. I am on my sixth week now and I’m feeling much better. It was not easy to implement the steps, for example, eliminating all gluten, dairy, sugar and processed foods. I also had a difficult time with the brain exercises. It really scrambled my head. One of the more surprising brain exercises to splash your face with cold water. I did not realize that reset your vagal nerve. I also had trouble standing on 1 foot and doing the finger taps gave me headaches. But it got easier. The figure eights with my arms and the gargling were two things that my neurologist had already told me to do but the other things were all new. I am on my sixth week and I now sleep through the night, I have no trouble falling asleep or waking up, I no longer have stomach pains or nausea, I am breathing more deeply, my mental endurance has increased and I no longer have to nap in the middle of the day. I also feel less anxious and more able to be calm and present. I am still dealing with memory issues and I have trouble processing complex information or making decisions but I feel like I am on the right path.The book gives you a great checklist of five neural networks so you can pinpoint the location of your particular symptoms. Unfortunately I scored high for symptoms in each of the five areas so now I can understand why it is taking me so long to recover. The book also indicates that if you are having trouble healing then there might be some underlying medical issues that need to be addressed in order for you to make further progress. It presents a checklist for medical symptoms that might make it necessary for you to see a functional medicine doctor to resolve.The book also indicates that there are five critical supplements for recovery and they include a high-quality DHA supplement, magnesium threonate, liposomal glutathione, ginkgo biloba and curcumin. Unfortunately the book does not give you the dosages but the author does have a website where he sells the supplements. I ended up using some of the supplements from his website and the others I bought from Amazon.This doctor also has a clinic and he indicates that you can sign up for his program. I am unable to afford that but this book has been a great help to me.

Helpful, Simple and Brilliant
A year ago I was rear ended at a high rate of speed -concussion, post concussion and whiplash. There has been a chemical feeling running through my body and brain - none of the doctors answered my question. I found the answer quickly in Dr Titus Chiu's book along with a ton of help and have blasted forward with research, getting answers that netted results.I've purchased other books about healing concussions and brain damage, Dr Titus Chiu's book and website were the most helpful for my unanswered questions. Yes - he advertises his BrainSave program which is why I visited his website and gained a lot from his blog too. At least I am gaining control of headaches...Similar exercises I learned in Occupational and Speech therapy are presented in Dr Titus Chiu's book, Brain Save Program and website along with the full explanation of how/why they help. If I purchased this book right after the accident, I could have saved a year.I signed up for the VIP Masterclass online program with Dr Titus Chiu and just finished. The info presented is extremely well put together and easy enough to maneuver even with a brain injury. I am completely blown away from the understanding I now have- thanks especially to his self evaluating quizzes and the empowerment to heal on many levels. I truly believe this brilliant program is the best info out in the world today. I am grateful to Dr Titus Chiu.Check out his new book Leaky Brain Fix!

Took me forever to get here
Once I stumbled onto this book. It was clear to me that my symptoms were a result of a post-concussion. 2 years later, I'm getting the help I need to right this ship, my brain. Super easy to read.

Information that no other doctor told me
I have had 2 concussions and they are difficult to get through when an MD. told me to wear sunglasses and pull my window shades down to keep light out and I would feel better in a month or so. That was all?!! How was I supposed to know how to heal? I was off work 2 months with the second concussion and I was supposed to figure out what to do? how to heal myself? There are few Dr.'s that understand and successfully treat patients with concussions. I am grateful to be given Dr. Chiu's name and both people said he is the best doctor to go to. I have watched him on Utube and can say he is professional, knowledgeable and it is evident that he cares about his patients. I got his book, expected it to be thicker but I felt the information was well presented, answered most of my questions, shows that Dr. Chiu is very professional and I have not found anyone that came close to him with knowledge and professionalism.

Latest research on Brains - EVERYONE needs to know
This book is enlightening. The info is a treasure of healing tools for those suffering with long enduring side effects from a former brain concussion. As this functional Medicine Neurologist conveys : there is so much research on Brains that most lay people do not have access to. There is a gap from what research studies have proven about the brain to getting that info out to the Doctors to use the info when treating their patients. Old outdated info like you only have so many brain cells and when they die that’s it.Old neurology text books will have to be corrected! This book provides all the latest discoveries in the field.I think this book should be required reading for patients AND medical staff!

Disappointing
I bought this book after listening to the author in a video, so I already knew the theoretical information. I bought it for the six-week plan it contains. I was disappointed. Five of the six weeks contain general advice such as stopping gluten or limiting daily screen exposure. The exercises are in Week 3 and there are not many of them (one for each of the 5 types of problems), rather basic suggestions like using your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth or balancing on your wobblier foot. I was expecting sharper diagnostic tools and more varied exercises for each condition. The conclusion you are led to is that if you want to do a really good job you need to book a session with the author.

The only thing that worked for me!
This book literally saved my brain. After suffering for several months with post concussion symptoms, this book was the one thing that gave me hope. I found Dr Chiu's information simple to understand, very informative, and a breath of fresh air after seeing many other medical professionals and following their protocol (only to have a slow drawn-out recovery). After following Dr. Chiu's 6-week program in the second half of this book, I was finally symptom free. One year later, I still sometimes refer back to his program when I have the occasional symptom flare-up.I highly recommend this book, if you are willing to commit to his 6-week program!
