Light and strong window guard
So, i bought this as a security measure, not for children, but for myself. I like to jump out of windows sometimes so i installed this to prevent myself from getting out to the public.Jokes aside, i just put my first one on and its super strong, like SUPER strong! I know its technically a fire hazard, but i keep a fire extinguisher in my room for that millionth of a chance id wake up engulfed in flames. That being said, I have been robbed before, with my window being the point of entry. I think its way more possible for the off chance of someone ill-intended to strike again than it is to encounter a fire so ill take my chances with the fire risk to feel safer in my home. But as for the product, its super strong and sturdy and i love how easy it was to just drill a few holes and set a few screws. It looks nice too, or not really an eye sore IMO. i have two more on the way to secure my windows. Hopefully a fire doesnt engulf me while Im happy at home gaming or sleeping, and hopefully i dont escape anymore.

Great security & use your own screws
I’ve had this in my shopping cart for a while and finally ordered. We needed this for a basement window. I wasn’t too worried about placing bars on the window, because there is a door very close on each side of the room to escape in the event of fire. I don’t have as much worry of someone breaking in now. It would take extreme force to kick it out, resulting in a lot of noise, so by then there’s time to take other measures. It doesn’t feel like it blocks the outside light too much either. We’re ordering a second for the top half of the window now. Oh, definitely use your own screws like others have said. Works so much better.

Extra security
I bought 18 of these bars in various lengths and widths for extra security on my rear, side, and basement windows. I live on a 1.5 acre lot with a wooded area behind me that's pitch black at night. A previous house by my wife was broken into a few years back with 2ft of snow on the ground in broad daylight so I take security seriously. The bars blend in with the white wood blinds and vinyl window casing so they are not noticeable until you get really close up on them. My only issue is all of the bars I received from Amazon, the clear plastic surrounding them was torn and the small plastic bag containing the screws attached to one of the bars by a zip-tie all had holes in them. Not all of the screws came with the bars and others the screws were scattered throughout the shipping box. I don't look at this as a Amazon issue but more of an issue with the cheap packing by the manufacture. The bars serve their purpose but be aware you will have to purchase screws to install them.

This worked ok for keeping my dog away from the window. At least he won't go through it if he breaks it.

Pretty good
I bought these to use for security in my garage window. They're fairly robust, and easy to adjust/install. Probably not going to stop a determined thief (nothing will), but they aren't getting through them without making a lot of noise and spending a lot of time. Likely they'll choose to move along to the next house. As others have said, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THE SUPPLIED SCREWS. For some reason, they supplied "security screws", which are made to screw in but not out, and due to the design of these window bars, probably couldn't ever be removed at all without destroying the window frame. THROW THEM AWAY.

Secures the dog.
Helpful in keeping the dogs not falling outside when the window is open and only the screen is the thing that prevents them from getting out.

very rigid and provide a nice visual deterrent to potential burglars
I have an older arts and crafts house that has many windows in many configurations, so I had put off the installation of internal security bars because of the significant cost. These were extremely inexpensive so I took the plunge and was pleasantly surprised. The bars are well made, very rigid and provide a nice visual deterrent to potential burglars. Installation is easy. The egress type take a few more minutes but are also easy and do work well. You can modify these with reciprocating saw if you need to. To be clear these are not sold as security bars and the product info tells you that. So you can spend much, much more on heavier gauge bars. But the reality is any determined B and E artist with the correct tools and a little time can defeat whatever bars you install no matter how good. The point is to stack up enough security measures, bars, lighting, cameras etc., so that even a pro, decides to pass on your house.
