Was looking for an oil based coating for 2 large garden sheds and was advised to get this. Its exactly what I was looking for as it gives the wood a good waterproof coating (unlike the other stuff Id used previously). 2 coats made sheds look even better. Will get another tin as Im SO pleased with it.Arrived on time and well packaged too so hence the 5 stars.

I have wood stain all over the outside wood of my house. I have used Saddolin Classict for many years. Like all paints/stains it comes off in the same places every year i.e. where the sun is strong on the paintwork. I therefore touch up the same places every year which is quick and easy to do. Where the sun is not strong it lasts for ever, esp. as it does not fade. I have tried many brands over the years and never found one to be any better. Its easy to put on as no specific undercoat or primer is required. I do not use their high density stain over the top of this product any more as this is merely a form of varnish, that sits on top of the wood stain, which then cracks with the heat from the sun and lets the water in. I have found that rubbing teak oil onto the Saddolin Classic when dry prolongs its life in the sunny areas. The prices charged on Amazon are usually less than the high street shops.
