This is a very well made and functional steam iron. Of the tens of irons available here I found this to be the best of the lot in terms of performance, features and pricing. The heating time from off to cotton is around 40 seconds which is the main reason I chose this 2000 watt version over the other cheaper lower watt Philips irons. So by the time I spread out the cloth for ironing on the board, this is perfectly heated up and I don't have to waste time waiting for the iron to reach its ironing temperature. The steam pressure is very good, much better than my older Philips steam iron. And the setting for the steam pressure allows you to choose heavy steam content, light steam or short bursts of very intense pressure or Steam Boost function for those stubborn denim creases. You can also switch off all steam and use it as a regular iron if you want. There is a spray function as well which allows you to manually spray water just ahead of the tip of the iron if you want to get the maximum amount of moisture for tricky corners or edges. The faceplate is coated with a non stick coating that makes it even smoother to glide over nearly every type of fabric. The plug is our normal light 5-Amp light socket and does not require a power socket. That means we can plug it nearly everywhere without having to change the plug on the iron and losing its warranty. In case you have hard water in your home or water with high mineral content and end up clogging the holes on the face plate, there is a cleaning function that allows to the unclog everything by just filling the iron up with water, heating it to full and then unplugging it. Then setting the control lever to clean and holding it hot over a sink while it forces pressurized water out from the nozzle to clean up the holes. In case any servicing or repairs are ever required, Philips has many service centers in nearly every city in India so that should not be a problem. This is definitely a point to consider when buying any appliance - the after sales service. All in all, this is a great iron for daily use and its from a nationally recognized and loved brand. Highly recommended.

FIRST OF ALL I WAS USING AN DRY IRON AND WANTED TO UPGRADE TO A GOOD IRON SO I CHOSSED FOR THIS PHILIPS IRON, AFTER ALL ITS AN WELL KNOWN REPUTED COMPANY AND SERVING FOR ITS CUSTOMERS SINCE DECADES BUT AFTER USING FOR AROUND 10 MONTHS SOME PROBLEM CAME UP AND THE FAITH TO THIS COMPANY TURNED INTO NIGHTMARE. BEFORE THAT I WANT TO PUT SOME GOOD POINTS REGARDING THE PRODUCT 1.ITS HEATS UP FAST AND GOOD VERY NICE. 2.STEAM IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR PERSONNEL OR HOME USE I THINK SO. CAUSE ITS TANK RUNS OUT LITTLE BIT QUICKLY IF THE STEAM FUNCTION IS USED CONTINUOUSLY. 3.LOOKS ELEGANT 4.HEAT SELECTOR IS GOOD DOES ITS JOB. 5.EASY TO USE. OVERALL A GOOD IRON . NOW THE HEADCHE PART WITH THE PRODUCT SERVICE AND ITS REPRESENTITIVE I HAVE CAME WITH SOME ISSUES WITH THE SOLE, SO I CONTACTED THROUGH MAIL WITH THE PHILIPS IND. LTD. AFTER THEY ARRANGED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SERVICE, I PERSONALLY TOOK THE IRON TO THE SERVICE CENTRE AFTER EXAMINING THE SOLE PROBLEM OF MY IRON THEY INSTANTLY IGNORED FOR ANY SERVICE SUPPORT, SAYING IT HAS NO PROBLEM IN THE IRON ITS HEATING AND I CAN BE USED, BUT I TRIED TO CONFRONT HIM BY SAYING THAT ITS PROBLEM IS ITS SOLE WHICH IS STARTING TO BUBBLE AND WILL PEEL UP SORTLY AFTER SOME TIME, BUT HE DENIED THAT THERE IS NO SERVICE UNTIL AND UNLESS WHOLE OF THE SOLE PLATE GETS DAMAGE, THEN I SAID THAT WILL YOU KINDLY TAKE SOME PICTURES AND SEND TO THE HIGHER AUTHORITIES FOR ANY HELP, BUT THE SERVICE PERSONNEL CLEARY DENIED BY SAYING THAT HE KNOWS THE COMPANY RULE AND IT IS USELESS TO CONTACT IN THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO . AFTER REPEATED REQUEST FOR MY WARRANTY CLAIM AT LAST HE TURNED UP RUDE AND ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE PLACE. I WAS REALLY AMAZED WITH THE THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR BY AN COMPANIES EXECUTIVE WHO ASKS COSTOMERS TO LEAVE THE PLACE, WHAT TYPE OF IMAGE WILL BE OF THIS TYPES OF COMPANIES WHO ASKS TO GET OUT FROM ITS SERVICE STORES, I AM SPEECLESS. SO THINK TWICE, THRICE BEFORE OPTING ANY PHILIPS EQUIPMENTS DONT GO BLINDLY, RESEARCH FOR A GOOD SERVICE NETWORK COMPANIES TO GET RID OF SUCH USELESS HEADACHE. MY HARD EARNED MONEY WENT FOR VAIN SO DONT BE FOOL BEFORE BUYING IT.

My decades old Rowenta iron fell so has to get another... Decided to get Phillips, overall it's decent, however doesn't come near the class of Rowena (made in Germany, which gives a professional iron result with just one drag of the iron over the cloth)... 16amp plug point needed, won't plug into 5 amp easily. It's refreshingly lightweight, but that means i had to go over the fabric with the hot iron (on linen mode) a few times to get the creases out.... No drip yet...i always use RO water so generally never face calcification issue with iron. Generally need iron for cotton and linens which actually get v creased after wash, so wish it got hotter and had a bigger plate as that would speed up ironing which is never something pple enjoy doing especially in Summers... Someone's review mentioning that this iron is working well since 10yrs so prompted me to buy it..For now, I'll keep it and see performance, hope it lasts 10 yrs! April 5, called Amazon as price of same iron dropped to 1780/-, mine was delivered 30th March and i paid 2380/- ...but they said they can't do anything... Mine is still within return window ... Disappointed ☹️ After using for a year, it's a good iron

Substandard item. Check for lid closing mechanism and leaks. It spits out white calc-type thing even when filled with Bisleri water.

Value for money

Pathetic product. Within one year this is the condition. Product got over heated and also damaged the clothes while ironing.
