Thermocouple Probe, Saim WRNK-187 0-1100C K-Type Thermocouple Probe Temperature Sensor 3 x 200mm

The length of the probe is much longer than the one bought originally with the thermometer, so this is a major improvement. Perfectly accurate, and designed for the higher temperature of over 1000 deg C.

It seemed OK the first time I used it but the second time it started giving wilder readings and now seems to be consistently off by at least a few degrees.In the photo the Sous Vide is running at 42C the alcohol thermometer says 41C the thermocouple that came with my instrument says 40.1C but this thermocouple is the outlier at 37C. I need accuracy of within "about a degree" and it doesn't deliver that. I'd send it back if the packaging hadn't long gone.Yes I tried turning it off and on again and swapping plugs around and all that.Perhaps it is more accurate at very high temperatures?

so i took a double neck flask. i neck remain open with one of the two thermocouple half immersed in boiling water. second one in a 10cm thermometer adapter (then the thermocouple is isolated from the water by a layer of borocilicate). it took more than 15mn before the thermo1 reaches ultimately 99º (then i got enough waiting). thermo2 remained at 40!!!! probably because more than 1 half of the rod was not exposed to the heat. measurements made with an AMPROBE TMD-56. btw with the twp coupler provided with the device (no metal rod, just thread) it was pretty instantaneous... taking my own temperature in my mouth with the rod was rather quick though and seemed accurate. Hope it helps

Simple yet effective, this is a quality probe, no complaints.

Certainly the best one I've had so far, lasting a lot longer than previous ones and seems of high quality
