My 6 month old daughter LOVES this toy. It is her favorite. I try to switch her toys out every so often, and whenever I put this one back out , it's the first one she goes to and she plays with it for a good 15 minutes! I love Melissa and Doug toys!

This "toy" is just what I wanted for my great-grandson. He absolutely loves it. He was immediately in awe of the brightly colored gears and his interaction with them was a sight to behold. This product is so good-the pieces are durable, the gears interlock and turn the "innards" of the caterpillar and create a focus of wonder. Knowing the Melissa and Doug brand already from previous purchases, this item exceeded my expectations. A definite thumbs up>>>>>

I am not sure where to rate this toy. It is well made and for about 2 or 3 days my granddaughter loved it but now she doesn’t even look at it. She is 19 months so maybe too old for it now?

Bought this for my 9mo old gr-baby for Christmas. She loved it. She could turn and remove the gears easily. It kept her interest for a few minutes which is about what I expected. Fast forward 8mo and she is still fascinated by it.It’s fun to play with, very well made, the colors are bold and eye catching, and best of all, there is much to be learned from this little toy. Also, the price is fantastic for what you get.I expect she will play with it for a couple more years at least. Another big plus for me is that it isn’t digital. It has no screen or power supply. It doesn’t have lights or play music. It’s just an investigative and imaginative toy that will last for a long time.I highly recommend this toy for any young child.

When i first opened this toy but my 4 year old and my 17 month old were immediately engaged ! The beautiful bright colors got their attention and my 4 year old found it funny that it was a caterpillar. My 17 month old loved roating the gears. I love the cause and effect relationship that this toy teaches and how the kids can manipulate the gears to put them in different orders. This kept their attention for awhile so definitely a worthwhile purchase!
