Excellent accept small shut down issue.
Slight Bias up front. Yamaha has always been an excellent Surround system. The quality is impeccable, and the sound is always on point. The only issue I am running into is that halfway through a movie, it just shuts down. I ensured it had plenty of air and changed the speaker's hertz to match. Check the speaker wire crossing and connections, as they don't make sense.

For the $, just average.
The sound is mostly average. Yamaha got carried away with trying to program listening preferences and naming them. Sound preferences are subjective. People understand high, low, and mid frequencies. Let them adjust those easily and you'll be ahead of the game. It's also just an average sound system - nothing special. So, I'd have to say the price is not justified. Yamaha's living on their past reputation with this one.

I’ve had this for a while now. I can’t speak for anyone else, but from what I’ve experienced, the sound quality and volume range is pretty impressive. If this is your first real surround sound system, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Seller customer service sucks
Center speaker doesn't work and I simply asked for a new speaker and they wanted me to send the entire package back. I'm a disabled man in a wheelchair so this was unacceptable. I'll never buy from this seller again
