This worked great for about 4 months. It started cutting out occasionally after that. The cutting out seems to be getting worse as time goes by. It gets really hot. I put a small fan on it which seems to help. Unfortunately I don't have room for a fan on my desk all the time. You might want to go with another brand.

After much thought and research, gave this one a try. Good news is that this DOES work--as in it is not just an HDMI splitter, but it works with dual monitors, and shows dual (different) displays on each monitor. It took a while for it to finally 'catch on' and start working, but once the set up was done, it has been decent. Overall, it is okay, but here are some potential issues: If your computer goes to sleep (no activity), the monitors lose connection too. And to get connection back, you'll have to fiddle with your mouse/keyboard or even open your laptop to "wake" the monitor. The splitter gets pretty hot if you're using it for hours on end. I am having to shut my computer off or unplug this each night so that I can avoid frying the darn thing.

Bought this to replace another docking station that had one of the HDMI ports fail after a little over 1 year of occasional use. I didn't need all the other USB/VGA ports on my other docking station, so when I found this one that was just two HDMI outputs for 1/2 the price I figured, why not? First time using it and it works. Time will tell if it lasts longer.

I have a Microsoft Surface for my work laptop, and it seems to not want to work with my two monitors, although all other brands I have owned (Dell, Apple and HP) have had no problems. I had another docking station that wasn't working at all, so I got this one to try, and it works sometimes just fine, however other times I have trouble getting a picture on my monitors and I have to plug/unplug this adapter several times to get it to work. I can at least get it to work after some time, so it will suffice for now.

Worked fine at first with two monitors, but after a few weeks, one HDMI port stopped working. Now it only supports one screen.
