Mad Spotter Hooks
If you’re looking at these, you’re probably looked at the “brand name” hooks from Mad Spotter.I’m happy to report, these are the same thing. And these are half the price! These look a bit different in the Amazon listing because of the Velcro strap that wraps around the dumbbell handle. I thought it looked bulky in the pictures, but I tried these anyway because they are dirt cheap.I used them with the Velcro strap a few times. Got the job done, but it was a little uncomfortable and distracting. I was still 75% happy with the hooks though.I decided to try them without the Velcro straps. They just slide off with a little effort. There’s still a single strap the goes across. This strap doesn’t slide around easily and when you grip the weights, not at all. Mad Spotter hooks have the same single strap. So, take off the Velcro immediately. It’s completely unnecessary.Functionally, these are fantastic. Not as goofy as I thought to have the hooks pointing up as I’m doing my lifts. I really didn’t notice at all. The hooks stay in perfect position unless you twist with your wrist.I have a pretty bad shoulder and these are a lifesaver. Trying to “kick” or swing the heavier weights up was painful and I was just begging for another injury. With these, they are already in perfect position to start my lift.I’ve used 80# dumbbells and these will hold much much more. Very sturdy.Get these now.

Great quality! Game changer
These are a game changer. They are very sturdy and work great! Holds 60# very easily. There was one review written when I purchased and it said take the wraps off which was spot on. Great product. Highly recommend for the price.

Great home gym addition
These are a great addition to your home gym; they make dumbbell exercises a lot easier on the shoulders. Flat, incline, and especially decline presses are made easier once you get the hang of using them.

Better than the style with a “built in” grip
I bought the one where there was a full metal bottom/grip to set the weight on. I was using 95lbs on it. For me, it didnt work at all. I need more wrist flexibility with that much weight. I returned it and bought this style. I like that you’re actually grabbing the handle of the dumbbell instead of a premade handle that goes with the spot hooks. This style was better than the previous style I purchased. However, it was just too awkward and was only able to get about 6 reps due to the awkwardness. I took the dumbbells off the hooks and got 12 reps. The idea is superb, but Im sad to say it did not work for me.

They broke
Had these for about a month. Worked okay, until they broke.

I’m a fan
It’s true, I got swayed by the Mad Spotter ads that are rampant on facebook, but checked Amazon instead for a cheaper alternative. First impressions overall are positive as they feel secure on the bar and in your hands, and their quality seems good. The only drawback that I could find is they can create a pinch point between the dumbbell and the handle hook during the exercise. Overall though, I’d say I’m pleased with the purchase, and not having to drop dumbbells after declines is pretty sweet.

Excellent quality.
I never knew these existed until recently. They definitely make chest press easier when going heavy.
